Me, myself and I
Alright, so people are always asking about ME. (I dunno why!!) eBay is a project I work on with my Dad - who is learning about Scrapbooking and Cross Stitching as we sell those products. We just downsized to a condo and so a lot of 'stuff' will make its way online for sale soon.
I have a Dual Major - Bachelors of Arts/Social Science in Sociology & Religious Studies (World Religions), a Minor in Chemistry, a Masters of Arts in Liberal Arts (I've done a lot of research on the Sufi Poet Jalalad'din Rumi, The "Westernization" of Asia through ESL, etc and in 2007 completed my MBA in Human Resources Management. In 2008, I challenged the CHRP Exam and hope to complete that certification by 2009- adding just more and more letters to my name... how FUN is that?
I spend a lot of time volunteering in Crisis Management, Women's Issues & Global Development (ontop of Work, School & eBay) (Gosh that sounds like a resume!)
Some of the items are stock items that we continue to wholesale, manufacture or import from any one of those businesses, by no means is all our inventory up online -so if there is something similar that you don't see, please ask! Our newest product lines do include name brand cosmetics and we are getting back into - you guessed it JEWELRY! What more do you expect from the great grand daughter, grand daughter, and daughter of a gemmologist? I may not be one, but gosh do I love jewelry... and well, make up... I've been sourcing suppliers for 2 years and I've got the inventory - now we get the product - the great name brands, to you all - at the prices that we, the every day consumer, can afford.
1% of our sales have for several generations now been donated to global development non profit agencies. (the 1% is a minimum goal. eBay is not only a noun it has become a verb. eBay is a way of life. eBay has embraced the power of the Internet and has successfully navigated its evolving course. eBay has created a unique and level playing field, eBay has empowered the individual - given each person who visits the site the power to change their life.
For those of you who don't know, I worked at eBay for about 4 years, from 04-08 really and very recently left - this is what I used to say about it and I am too close to it to delete it still...
Me working at eBay means you can trade with confidence because I am held to a really high standard. I absolutely love working here and the people I have met through my work. I work as part of team that allows me to really feel the pulse of eBay - and those of you who have contact with me at work or have been eBaying a while, can imagine what that pulse is like! Always changing, evolving. So .. while I'm not deleting what I wrote before, because I still talk the talk and live those values, I'm just going to add to it - in November 07, I left my role at eBay after a lot of agonizing and am now an HR Manager at another Fortune 500 company. It was the toughest decision I ever made and many many of the friends I made at eBay remain my life long friends and while it has taken me a good 9 months to get back on the site to sell, it wasn't about me leaving eBay but about me striving for areas of growth in my career. So for all of you eBayers out there - eBetsy, imewok, camillascottage (god, I know you changed your name but I can't ever remember the new one), bobal who taught me HTML before I worked at eBay when I was still at Geocities!, I will still see you at those eBay Lives and I still love eBay, I'm just... one of you now ;)
