We at Fab Fibers are delighted to offer a variety of basic and unique yarns to meet your project needs. Consistent quality and good prices below usual retail have made us a favorite yarn source for numerous weavers, knitters and crocheters.  

With many years as a weaver and spinner, I've had the opportunity to get to know and understand the huge variety of yarns and fibers in the marketplace.  Being a weaving teacher has also given me the experience of what makes an excellent handwoven product, and all yarns sold by Fab Fibers are selected with that in mind.

In my listings, you will find very specific information about the yarn shown.  Usually, you will see the color (as true as possible), the number of plies, weight in yards per pound (ypp), the wraps per inch, possible knitting gauge, weaving sett, and suggestions for how that particular yarn might be used.  Please ask for a sample of the yarn if you're still unsure about it's characteristics.

• 4/2 cotton = 1680(ypp)

• 5/2 cotton = 2100 ypp

• 6/2 cotton = 2520 ypp

• 8/2 cotton = 3360 ypp

• 10/2 cotton = 4200 ypp

Multiply the first number times 840 (a standard weight-to-length measurement for cotton), then divide by the second number (plies) to get the yards per pound of any given cotton yarn.
