| Sunday Funnies is proud to announce the creation of the Filmation Archives "Animation for the New Generation." The Filmation Archives is a website and company dedicated strictly to the immeasurable Filmation Studios, Started By Lou Scheimer and Norm Prescott in 1966 until it"s sale in 1987. Through those 20 year Filmation Studios is the studio that created the exciting and diverse animation art that has brought worlds of action, adventure, fantasy, sci-fi, and comedy to life like no other animation studio before or since. Historically, it is the only animation studio to produce all of its production animation in the United States of America. Fantastic original artwork that created classic series such as SUPERMAN, BATMAN, FAT ALBERT, ARCHIE, and HE-MAN is now being made available with "collector quality set-ups." Dynamic, one-of-a-kind production cels, backgrounds, and drawings that actually appeared on film and television - incredible set-ups which have never been seen or made available before! A new generation has begun to discover the fantastic Filmation animation legacy - joining those who first had the chance and pleasure of watching these classics when the shows were first broadcast over the past 35 years. This is a rare and special opportunity for all to own original artwork that has created lasting impressions on the imaginations and memories of people from all over the world. This artwork also represents the ability to obtain hand-created artwork that was done by the very talented Filmation artists and animators who literally brought all of these varied characters and the worlds in which they inhabit to life. Original Filmation animation artwork represents a rare and unique opportunity to create a collection of hand-crafted artwork that embodies the artistry, integrity, and expression of the limitless imaginations of the artists who have brought many of the most timeless and fanciful of characters, times, and places to life - in ways that no other animation studio has, or has dared to. Many of these talented Filmation artists and writers have gone on to forge and create an impressive array of other characters and stories, including: Paul Dini - creator/producer of Warner Brothers highly successful contemporary "Batman" animated series; Glen Keane - Disney animator of popular characters such as Ariel from "The Little Mermaid", Aladdin, The Beast from "Beauty and the Beast", and Tarzan; and the legendary Virgil Ross - who is considered to be one of the finest animators in animation history - and who helped to create over 230 of the most memorable vintage Warner Bros. Cartoons, of which his works received four Oscars . In the beginning of the 1990's, much of the animation done by other studios had begun being created by the use of computers, a technique which has now become the industry standard for producing animation movies and television series. This hand-created artwork truly represents a testament to the "passing of the torch" in animation/film history, as it, in terms of production methods, represents the last of the greatest efforts in animation to render animation images via hand, versus by computer. The highest quality of Filmation animation artwork is now available - the best of the best - artwork that has been preserved in our studio archives for over 30 years! All artwork is embossed with the official Filmation Studios seal and is accompanied by an official certificate of authenticity. Feel free to contact us regarding any questions you may have regarding this fantastic animation art and the Filmation Studios legacy. |
