Kenneth Jay's Collectible Page
Welcome
My interest in sports memorabilia started around 1970. The collectors' field of choice back then was overwhelmingly baseball. We nearly exclusively dealt and traded by mail. There was a unique common bond among us, due to being a small but dedicated group.
My interest in movie memorabilia started around 1975. I attended the three-day annual film conventions, which featured continuous runs of the classics. There were also celebrity signings and guest speakers.
Another special event was the ceremonial release of a new stamp. Choosing the right people to honor was once a very selective process.
I occasionally list autographed items for sale on eBay. Unless otherwise noted, each was personally obtained for my own collection. This was mostly via the mail route from 1973-93. I've never ended an auction early, once a bid was placed.
Exhibitor at the third and last annual Brea Show in 1971. (This SoCal get-together was a forerunner of the Nat'l Sports Collectors Con.) Member of the Universal Autograph Collectors Club (UACC) and Society for American Baseball Research (SABR). Contributor to SABR's ongoing Baseball Biography Project. Authored the 259-page book Baseball's Golden Half-Century 1910-1959 (published in 2007). I've been a subscriber and occasional advertiser to the major hobby publications, since the early 1970s. Full-page ads of mine have appeared in Autograph Collector (now called Autograph Magazine). Back issues include: Jun '90 p 37; Sept '90 p 25; Jan '91 p 35; Aug '91 p 19; Apr '93 p 7; Oct '94 p 32; Oct '96 p 87 etc.
Customer satisfaction is of utmost importance! There's no need to be unhappy with a signed item. Rather, please return it insured and in the same condition received, for a full refund (less postage cost). I've never sold copies or pre-prints, only originals! Everything listed is guaranteed to pass JSA or PSA/DNA, without time restraints. (But, please present some proof that it was purchased from me, like a copy of the actual listing.) I've only once had an item returned, and that was because someone didn't like the photo quality. There are fourteen names on my Blocked Bidders List. They all reneged on their winning bid, except for one who left a phony $1 Best Offer. Insurance is usually optional. If declined, my responsibility ends with providing evidence of mailing. (Fortunately, nothing yet has been lost in the mail.) All items are shipped out in a thick 6x9 (or larger) brown envelope, regardless of its value. A basic Certificate of Authenticity (COA) will be sent out upon request.
I'm standing in front of the Queen Victoria Memorial; located next to London's Buckingham Palace 2009.
