And the story goes......
Chad has three passions in his life - welding, horses, & his family. He has many years of experience as a TIG, MIG, & Stick welding under his belt. He has spent the last few years as a pipeline welding in the oilfield & TIG welding odd jobs in the shop at home. He enjoys spending his free time in the arena with the horses; either practicing his team roping or just conditioning/training his horses. Chad grew-up learning & roping on just a handful of great head horses. He actually still has a big gray gelding named Mouse; who is 30+ years young this year & enjoying his retirement. Recently, Chad has decided to start several younger prospects to further enhance his rope horse string. The Finleys' have taken their time in selecting their younger horses & look forward to hauling some spectacular horses down the road in the near future! When younger, Chad spent many days going down the road horseshoeing with his step-father, Dennis. Chad has been involved in horseshoeing for 20+ years, and has started to add additional horses to shoe & trim to his schedule.
Renate shares Chad's love of horses & is blessed to stay home to spend time with the Finley Remuda. Her life has revolved around horses for the past 20+ years & she has enjoyed each & every second of it. God has blessed her with some incredible show & barrel horses throughout the years. Her pride & joy the past 4 years is an APHA Grullo Overo Mare named DJS Dundee, or better known as Roo. When Roo arrived in TX 4 years ago Renate had no ideo how this mare would change her life. Roo has proven to be the "one in a million" that we all search for in our lifetime. Renate prides herself on riding her horses correctly & teaching them the basics before the demand of a show career or the roping arena are asked from them. Renate graduated from Tarleton State University with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Production. She has added a small herd of commercial black angus cattle to her daily events & looks forward to adding to the herd in the near future.
Chad & Renate have been married for 2 great years and what an amazing whirlwind it has been. They are so very blessed with wonderful family they love to spend time with. Each and every occation is such an adventure! They are also blessed with numerous friends around the state of TX, as well as, the nation & wish that they had more time to see them all. The Finley family also consists of two fuzzy dogs - Newt the Border Collie & Spur the Toy Australian Shepherd. If you spot Chad & Renate down the road there is a good chance that Newt & Spur can be seen tagging along.
