FIREGLÄSS studio began in 1986 as a place to explore our interest in glass. We learned about glass from the university of trial and error, drawing from our backgrounds in sculpture, printmaking, stained glass, calligraphy and design. We’re best known for our detailed enamel designs fused between layers of clear glass, and have been selling our work to gift shops & galleries nationwide as well as juried art shows in the southwest.
We began beadmaking in 1993 after meeting Lewis Wilson at a show and buying his video. It was trial and error all over again since beadmaking information was not as widely available as it is now. Two people never had such fun making "icky blobs", we were addicted, and thankfully have improved our skills over the years. We consider beadmaking our "playtime" at work, and cherish the fact that it has never become a job to us. Every time we sit at the torch to make a bead, we feel as excited as when we made the first one. After many years of selling our beads only at shows, we are now making them available on ebay as well as through our website.
