I was Shabby Before It Was Chic ! Shabby and Chic Handmade Candle Holder I have been designing silk florals for about17 years now and I just LOVE it!I lived in the Seattle area for over 20 years and sold my arrangements to gift shops, and did juried shows in old Victorian homes and farm houses.I also worked in two floral shops.I am an avid gardener...I spend way too much money at local Nurseries...If my hubby only knew! Along with my love of gardening and arranging silk florals I love to transform things I find at flea markets that others have no use for,into things of beauty again.I add my own special touches such as vintage hardware,glass knobs and wood appliques. I also design what I like to call "handmade" shabby candle holders.I fashion them using things such as old candy dishes, different sizes and shaped candle holders and reclaimed objects. I love to find things and give them a new purpose in life.So I like to say I was shabby before it was chic... Vintage Teacup Wreath I live in Michigan now with my Husband and two of my three children,my oldest Chad(25)still lives in Seattle.I have a son,20 and a daughter 17 still living at home.My family moved back to Michigan in 2004 six months after my husband had a kidney transplant.My hubby felt I should be near my family for their love and support...he was right!It has been a challenge for all of our family but I am happy to say my husband is doing well.I choose to give E-bay a try because I can not work out side of the home because of my health problems and the economy in Michigan is not good.I have Fibromyalgia, and Arthritis and floral arranging is something I can do and not work long hours on my feet.
