This page contains store policy and encompasses all areas of interplanetary and international Ebay internet selling activities, except Jupiter and Spain, unless otherwise noted. I offer 4-6 weeks delivery time on all items that I sell on Ebay. I’ve heard the term thousands of times on TV for products by large companies with hundreds, if not thousands, of employees. It may seem like a long time, but I assure you, I did not make the phrase up. If it’s Ok for big business and TV, then why should it not be good enough for me, a one person operation. Upon leaving feedback, please do not leave four stars or less for me in shipping time or cost. I guarantee all items to be delivered at no more than 6 calendar weeks from the payment date. Ebay allows you to monitor all purchases in the “My Ebay” section for up to 8 calendar weeks, I believe from the purchase date. So as long as you don’t take 2 weeks to pay for it, then we have plenty of time. If that does not merit the highest feedback rating, than please don't leave me any feedback whatsoever. I would rather get no positive feedback out of the transaction than to receive a negative one. What Ebay doesn't tell you is that 4 star ratings are negative feedback and that too many 4 star ratings can have a seller removed from Ebay. Even though it may say “Fast” or “Good” when entering four stars and the word may even have a positive connotation, it is, in fact, negative feedback. Ebay pushes the shipping time & cost idea onto buyers to make more money for themselves, Paypal & shipping services. There may be a figure of 12-19 days estimated delivery time somewhere on my item page, but this is posted by Ebay and is not endorsed directly by me, the seller. It’s only there because it is the longest time duration option that Ebay offers. Ebay imposes the idea of fast, fast, fast because they have such “high standards.” What they really are doing is creating the idea that everything you buy on Ebay should be at your door in 2-3 days. Isn’t it a coincidence that the United States Postal Service also offers a 2-3 delivery service and they are endorsed as being the official shipping service for Ebay? Isn’t it also a coincidence that this method of shipping is the most expensive offered by the USPS? Sure, quick shipping is nice as a buyer, but fast, fast, fast really means cha-ching for Ebay, as well as the USPS and we already know they’re in cohoots! It also means less money in shipping materials, transportation and overall costs for the reason you’re reading this in the first place, the seller. This infrastructure will only create “Walmart” type Ebay sellers with mass produced dollar store junk from china. If you value Ebay for the hard to find or vintage items and the unique sellers you will meet when buying them, then please, no more hatings in the ratings. Support the little guys on Ebay, it's like having a roving deal finder in every city of the country! Ebay claims it's the seller’s responsibility to explain this, so this is my approximation. Ebay has recently increased the feedback standards, making it even harder for the low volume sellers. Ebay, like any other business, has done this in order to weed out the little guys and support the sellers who bring them the most money, hence Walmart. Shipping costs, like taxes, are inevitable. I offer free local pickup, but very rarely can anyone on Ebay avoid shipping prices by actually living close enough to the seller to outweigh the shipping cost. Ebay is also recently pushing the idea of “free shipping” onto Ebayers and even rewarding sellers who offer it with lower listing fees and increased buyer search matches. Can you say “Big Business?” Ebay also tries to restrict the amount of money that sellers can charge for shipping. They don’t do it directly and are a joke when it comes to customer service, but take more of a “Big Brother” approach. I ship a lot of board games, three of which I sent off the day of writing this. One was a larger, long rectangular box, like MonopoIy for example, and the others were smaller, thicker, more square-ish boxes. They cost $12, $12 and $10 in shipping, respectively. So if you notice in my listing the shipping cost to be a little high, please don’t ask why. It’s because shipping is expensive, go to the post office and ask them why. Sure, flat rate boxes are the faster, easier way to ship and you can send up to 70 pounds! Ever tried it? Nothing I sell ever fits into these boxes and if it does, would cost much less to send parcel post. Can you really fit 70 lbs. worth of stuff into any of those boxes? It may work out for you if you’re selling civil war lead bullets, but for the seller who sells a variety of different shaped items it is almost always never feasible. What you’re really paying for is quick, quick, quick and the nice, pretty box with the USPS logo on it. Ebay tries to thwart my attempts at offering a decent shipping price, in my terms, but what they can’t control is what I charge for my personal handling time. Isn’t the careful handling, storage and packaging of the item you want worth a little extra? I stated earlier that the lowest priced game I shipped today cost $10, but let me post a new game offering $10 shipping and Ebay leaves me a “Big Brother” message. They claim that “they noticed the shipping cost was a little high for the category and that buyers are sensitive to shipping costs and this high cost may persuade buyers against the purchase of, or even looking at my item. What they don’t tell you is that a low starting price or a hard to find item may attract as many, if not more buyers than free shipping. The shipping cost does not persuade anybody, Ebay tries to persuade everybody with the practices they’ve forced on an “open” market. This may work well for Ebay power sellers peddling bobo electronics they bought from a wholesaler in Indoneisa, but not for me. So in essence, by purchasing items from me you are paying for my time in finding, acquiring, transporting, storing, handling and packaging of the item that you want and not the item itself. Everything I sell is essentially junk in the trunk, so pay me for my trouble and not my merchandise. The shipping maybe a tad high, but is definitely not “excessive” per Ebay’s guidelines. As a rule of thumb, I set my prices as a “total amount,” meaning sale price plus shipping. I check Ebay for similar items and set my “total” prices lower than, or at least competitive with, all like items on Ebay. I then split the total price into selling price and shipping price, favoring the shipping side. This way, I make more of a profit on the item and Ebay takes a lesser percentile. Is it a crime for me to make a little money in shipping labor? After all, I was the one that did all the work. The Ebay “Godfather” doesn’t care about any of this and is only concerned with his “cut.” Ebay sellers should promote the idea of “total” price, rather than accept the Ebay concept of item sale price plus ugly, heinous shipping prices, because all shipping costs are heinous. If you think you could get the item you plan to purchase from me for a better price at Walmart, then please, feel free to leave whatever feedback rating you like. If you'd rather get this item at a flea market or yard sale with no MSRP, then please leave only the most positive of feedback. I’m not saying all of this because I’m bitter, but because Ebay is forcing me to do their job in protecting my best interest as a seller. In other words, leaving less than 5 star ratings for sellers is promoting big business and capitalism. I am on ebay for one purpose, to make money. If by dealing with me you’re allowing me to make a profit for having the item that you want, than great! If by dealing with me, you are concerned about why Ebay, Paypal and the USPS aren’t getting a bigger cut of my efforts, then maybe you should shop elsewhere. Believe me, all three of the aforementioned companies have enough money! I’m a small time seller, I am not Walmart and do not have a shipping department. I make only modest profits from ebay and don’t feel I should have to run to the post office 3 times a week or jump at the notion that someone just paid me for something. I am a straight shooting seller looking only to make some extra money and offer everything set forth in this document; an item pictured and described to the best of my ability and delivered in a traditionally “acceptable” amount of time, nothing more. I’m all for the one thing that Ebay gets right, fairness. Although everything I sell on Ebay is sold “as is” with no returns, I intend 100% to be fair and will accept returns in rare instances where I grossly misrepresent an item with picture or description. Expect a fair deal from me, as I currently have a feedback rating of 850 with 99.7 percent of my transactions being successful, meaning 997 out of every thousand deals have been welcomed on both ends. If there is a problem with said conditions, please contact me prior to bidding, as I am very accommodating. If there is a problem after the item/s are received, please contact me before taking any actions with Ebay. They will not help you! I'll do my best to help and provide a fair deal. As you can see, I am a people person, so you can deal with me directly. By reading this, do you feel like I would take care of the matter, or would you rather have Ebay, a third party who has no idea what's going on in this particular transaction decide the matter for us? And you thought 4 to 6 weeks was long? Just wait for Ebay to help you with anything. Ebay, the one who takes the "Judge Judy" approach and often passes false judgement by ruling with deaf ear and iron hand. Sure, Paypal will put a temporary hold on your investment, but from a buyer’s perspective after the seller has added the tracking number it’s pretty much case closed in favor of the seller. Please contact me with any and all questions or concerns, as I have much better customer service than Ebay or Paypal and will work with you to come to an amicable solution. I’m not here to rip you off, although several rip off artists strive on ebay, but to offer a mutually beneficial transaction for us both. I answer most questions promptly, with the longest response being a couple of days, depending on the accessibility of the item. Feel free to contact me via Ebay messaging or even drop me a line if everything isn’t what was promised to you upon viewing my auction. Please do not contact me if your question can be answered anywhere within herein text. I do not want to have an online Ebay buyer-seller relationship with you, nor do I want to hold your hand through the entire process. You will receive no updates or messages from me along the way,the tracking number will be added when your item has shipped. There is no rush, it’s not the end of the world and good things come to those who wait! I don’t sell pace makers or bomb defusing equipment, so I doubt anything I sell could be considered an emergency. It is your job to pay for the item without contact from me and unpaid item disputes will be opened for non-paying bidders. I offer no hassle, no nonsense Ebay transactions. Do you want an online strip mall or a truly bizarre shopping environment? Then let’s all calm down and help make Ebay a better community! Exercise a little prolonged self gratification and support your local Ma and Pa Ebay stores! It’s what makes Ebay American! Rest assured that you are dealing with a decent and trusted trading partner. And finally, please, please only leave less than five star ratings for sellers whom you strongly feel should not even be allowed to trade on Ebay! Thank you. ~MGMT
