Hello Friend!
I call my little on-line store the flyingjewelbird. I've always thought of Hummingbirds as little flying jewels. I enjoy making my backyard garden a retreat for these wild bejeweled friends.
I live in beautiful San Marcos, which is in San Diego, CA. I enjoy writing and sharing articles. I specialize in how to articles. The failures and triumphs of real life experiences make them my favorites. I've been successfully selling on eBay since 1995 and enjoy sharing how to make money selling on-line.
I love home cooking and baking from scratch. Making banana nut bread and slow cooker pull-apart one pot dinners are my specialties. I grow my own fruits and veggies. I try to keep fit by walking, bike riding, and going to the gym. I am a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers.
My philosophy is to treat others that way I like to be treated. I manage my small business the same way. I offer quality items, good value, and memorable Customer service. I deliver on my promises.
Today I'm enjoying life more than ever before. Our time is too short and too precious to obsess about the small stuff. I believe showing appreciation reinforces love and friendship. I'm glad that hard work really does pay off.
Thank you for learning more about me. You can learn more about me on eBay My World. Just click on my name (flyingjewelbird). I appreciate your business, and I aim to please you with my 5 star service!

Hummingbird Facts ...
Q. Why are they called hummingbirds?
A. That's an easy one! Their wings beat so fast (in normal flight about 75 beats per second, and during courtship flights both ruby-throated and rufous hummingbird wings can beat 200 times per second!) that they make a humming sound.
Q. What is unusual about a hummingbird's flying?
A. They can fly backwards and upside down and to hover. Few other birds can do any of these things, and none as successfully as the hummingbird.
Q. How fast do hummers fly?
A. Ruby-throated hummingbirds have been clocked in a wind tunnel flying up to 27 m.p.h. One kept up with an automobile going 45 m.p.h.; another kept up with a car going 55 - 60 m.p.h.
Q. How smart are hummingbirds?
A. Hummingbirds are very intelligent, and are able to remember places and individual people from one year to the next.
Q. How do you make hummingbird food?
A. Add 1 cup of boiling water to 1/4 cup of sugar. Stir until the mixture is completely desolved. There is no need to add food coloring. Let the nector cool before filling your feeder. Always be sure to keep your hummingbirds' feeder clean by changing the nector weekly.

Slow Cooker Facts ...
Q. Why should I leave the lid on my slow cooker during the cooking process?
A. Everytime you remove the lid, your crock pot loses steam that helps the food cook. Once the lid is removed, it takes 15 - 20 minutes to regain the lost steam and temperature. So resist peeking!
