Welcome!
Located in the beautiful piney woods of central Arizona, the Prescott Folklore Center specializes in traditional acoustic instruments. We buy, sell, trade, take on consignment, repair and restore old banjos, guitars, mandolins, and fiddles .... along with just about every other stringed and fretted instrument we can scare up!
We also stock a select few new instruments ( we're really picky about those .... how does Larrivee and National grab ya? ) and some used non-vintage stuff too.
There's also quite an extensive line of harmonicas at our shop. We probably have it .... what do you need?
And we're an authorized repair shop for Gibson, Martin -and- Taylor!
If you're in the neighborhood, stop by! We'd love to sit and chat with you!

We carry a lot of old fiddles, parlor guitars, banjos and other interesting vintage instruments perfect for the "old-timey" musician. Let us know what your wants are, and maybe we can find you one! If you don't see what you're looking for, just ask! Who knows, our infamous "back room" might have one buried in there somewhere .......
We also stock a good line of music books and instructional materials for the acoustic musician, and our display case of fancy (and we -do- mean fancy!) fiddle parts is pretty nifty, too!
There's also usually some nice mandolins laying around, and who knows what else might walk thru the door, or what we might dig up on one of our buying trips ........ there's even a little "as-is" room off to one side that's usually full of some pretty good bargains!
We offer lessons, too!
We sort of think of our store as a "musical instrument adoption service." We care about each and every one of them, and love to see them in the hands of happy people! C'mon by and visit for a while.
We're open 10 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday and 10 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
To protect bidder privacy, when the price or highest bid on an item reaches or exceeds a certain level, User IDs will be displayed as anonymous names. For auction items, a bold price means at least one bid has been received.
