**Welcome**

Important Announcement!!

PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, on the 18th of February, 2008, I suffered a spontaneous hemorrhage in the cerebellum portion of my brain and was in a coma for about 12 days. The good news is that since the stroke happened in the spinal cord area of my brain, my memory has not been affected; the bad news is that it was in the vision and motor skills portion, so that my speech, walking, and vision areas leave a bit to be desired, particularly on my right side. Given time, I am expected to make a full recovery, so that is the best news of all!! I am now a year beyond that date and am still experiencing improvements, but I am another year away (perhaps less) from a complete recovery. Please expect my emails and mailings to be a bit on the slow side, but please know that I'm trying to get back to my former self as soon as I possibly can.

We would like to thank you for taking a look at what we hope is a very informative page on eBay!! We have also just updated our website with numerous fine British Watercolors from Leitch, Collingwood Smith, Edward Hodgson, Georgina Deane and Captain Charles Hope. The latest artist is the Reverend John Louis Petit and many of his fine works will be added over the next few weeks!!

The first division you will encounter is our preview section where we try to post a few digital images from our upcoming items which we consider to be some of our more important offerings and then we will list the majority of our other fine books and prints and paintings in their respective eBay categories. We have been trying to organize a few "theme" nights, which worked well in the beginning, but have fallen prey to the overseas mail service and several other factors recently. So while we're trying to stick to the published plan, it doesn't always work out that way!! We have direct links to our ever-expanding Website and our eBay Gallery of currently listed items. After that is a part of the history of "me" and then the current items on offer and some of our recent feedbacks. We hope you enjoy the page!!

Continuing for the next few months will be:

Weekly sales of fine British Watercolors featuring the works of the Reverend John Louis Petit, John Moyer Heathcote, and Charles Gilbert Heathcote, and many others as they become available!! Interspersed with the watercolors will be some Ornithological and other prints .

    **A Bit of History**

I have been collecting and selling fine Antiquarian Prints, British Watercolours, and French and Belgian Impressionist and Post-Impressionist Paintings as a private dealer since my first auction at Christie London in 1976. At that time, I "won" a nice David Law Watercolour and then wandered over to the venerable printsellers, Henry Sotheran, and purchased a hand-coloured print of Dublin. I was immediately hooked on the Wonderful World of Art!! Over the years, a particularly favorite area of mine has been Natural History Art, both in Watercolours and Hand-coloured Prints. This interest has led to numerous research excursions throughout England from Cambridge to Cornwall; the labors of which will now reach fruition. Appearing a few years ago now and into the second edition, is the publication of "Gertrude Jekyll, Making of a Garden" by the Antique Collectors Club which features a few watercolours in my collection by the Cornish Botanist and Artist, Miss Emily Stackhouse. Miss Stackhouse (1811-1870), the subject of my research, was the unknown illustrator of the Bible of 19th c. English Botany, "Flowers of the Field" by the Rev. C.A. Johns, a book that began publication in 1851 and which was also a favorite of Jekyll!! The Emily Stackhouse story, illustrated with more of her exquisite watercolours, will hopefully be published in the very near future!! And now, I'm proud to say, my comprehensive essay on Miss Emily Stackhouse has been chosen for inclusion in the new book by Deirdre Dare and Melissa Hardie, "A Passion for Nature, 19th Century Naturalism in the Circle of Charles Alexander Johns". Many of the Stackhouse watercolours will be used as illustrations and it is really a superb book, wonderfully researched and written!! In the course of my travels in the United Kingdom, I have become very familiar with many provincial auction houses and am continually purchasing items so that we can offer a varied range of prints, books, and fine paintings on eBay for your bidding enjoyment. With our over 30 years of experience and expertise as well as a full guarantee on every item sold, we hope you will purchase from us with confidence.
