STORE POLICIES

PAYMENT:

Payment is expected within one week. Ebay should send an automated email when you commit to buy. I will also send you an invoice. Additional invoices, email correspondence and reminders may or may not be sent. You know according to ebay policies you are expected to pay for all of your buy it now purchases and winning bids.

If you do not pay on time, you may get an unpaid item email alert from ebay’s resolution center. This is ebay’s process to keep buyers responsible and allow sellers to get ebay final value fee money refunded. Most cases are resolved here, and many do not get an unpaid item strike.

You should always read the listings and be prepared to pay by the payment method(s) allowed per seller. I take PayPal payments. Although unmentioned in my ebay listings, I also like postal money orders. Please let me know after purchase if you would like my address to send a postal money order to. Please mail it within 3 days. Why postal money orders? 1. You must mail it to me anyway, so it is convenient for you to buy and send at one time and place. 2. Postal money orders are reasonable in cost to you. 3. I can cash your payment and ship your package all at the same time and place. 4. Other money orders that I must cash at my bank are less reliable and not acceptable.

RETURNS:

Generally returns are not necessary or allowed. This is partially due to the safety concerns of the products I sell. However most sellers on ebay, regardless of their return policy, will (and should) refund if an item was described in error. I take return requests on a case by case basis. Please know that you are responsible to read and understand the listing information before committing to buy anything on ebay. Please ask before committing to buy about any concerns you may have. If you find an error in one of my listings, email to let me know. Please realize, if you do not purchase insurance and receive your item in less than satisfactory condition, the problem is out of my hands.

INSURANCE:

Congratulations to the post service for a great track record in delivering my packages. I can only remember 3 insurance claims. However, there were at least that many again who did not buy the insurance but wished they had. USPS has handled my few claims with ease so that I could refund buyer payments within about 2 - 3 weeks. You are the only one responsible for deciding whether or not to purchase the insurance. Seller is not responsible for damaged or lost uninsured packages.

All packages (with a possible exception of flat items such as coupons sent in a #10 envelope) come with delivery confirmation free of charge to you. Delivery confirmation is not the same as tracking. It attempts to let us know that an item was delivered. However it is not proof of delivery. It is possible (although rare) to have a package confirmed as delivered not show up to your door. At least I have had a few buyers claim that. If you buy the insurance, you will be covered in that unlikely event.

COMBINED SHIPPING:

Please consider taking advantage of combined shipping. I can fill up a flat-rate priority mail box for you with 8 or more items often for the same price as shipping 2 or 3. We just need to get the email dialog going. Consider this a start. For instance, I believe that you can save overall from buying several items at once. If you are buying from me, you are probably using soaps and other items that I sell. Consider your savings in gas by buying more online especially from one seller. Please browse my store for many useful items. If you let me know that you are interested in several items, I can help you to know just how much will fit into a certain size box and for how much cost to ship. If I know your email address, I can send you a link to my store to your email. If you use that link to log on to your ebay and buy from me all in that log on session (using that link to my ebay store), ebay will discount my fees some. By working together, we can save each other money. If you made multiple purchases, you may want to wait for my combined shipping invoice before paying.

FEEDBACK:

Feedback is getting used less and less these days. Normally I leave feedback upon receiving it. This allows me to leave it for the people who appreciate and use the feedback system the way it was intended to be used. I don’t leave negative feedback for anyone without extensive unsuccessful communication. Please take the feedback system seriously by communicating with any seller who you believe has gone against ebay policies. You are responsible to check the email accounts you registered with ebay / PayPal and keep track of any emails possibly gone to spam (aka bulk or junk mail). Do not use feedback as a means to communicate, no matter how frustrated you are, without first trying to negotiate through email or the ebay message center. Many things are resolved through open communication. You will find that most of my buyers are very happy with their overall experience.

If you are new to ebay and are trying to build your ebay reputation as a buyer, please let me know if you would like for me to leave feedback right away after your speedy payment. I can appreciate your desire to be viewed as a trustworthy member of the ebay community.

MISC.:

Although I love selling on ebay, often I am making very little or no money for the products you buy. This is due to several things: 1. annual ebay fee increases through the years, 2. our slow and troubled economy, 3. annual postal increases drive prices down in order to make buying online appealing, and 4. increased competition with online stores. People bought more in bulk from me in the past and paid higher prices than they do now. I offer some items at a loss in order to get people to see more of my items in their search. My latest motive for selling is to keep the inventory moving out of my store so that I can be done with it and take up a new hobby in the near future.

Regardless of the rising cost of gas, I still like to drive to the post office daily when possible to ship your packages. I work an additional job 3 - 12 hour days in a row. On these 3 busier days, I may ship once or twice. My listings state handling time as 2 days or 3 days in case a payment arrives on one of my busy work days. You will notice in my feedback that my buyers are happy with speed of delivery.

I price shipping very conservatively. You may run across some listings where shipping actually costs me more than what you pay. This is ok with me and a bargain to you. It saves me time not to relist or revise for shipping increases for every ebay item. Consider this a discount to you on some items while the postal rates climb due to higher gas prices. On the flip side, if you notice shipping actually cost a little less than what you paid, please consider that the post office discounts my shipping for printing shipping labels online. This usually only covers the cost of the shipping label and possibly some packaging materials. This also allows me to provide delivery confirmation for free and ship to you with greater acuracy than with hand written labels. When unable to use online shipping services, shipping most always costs me more than the amount charged. Please take into consideration when leaving detailed seller ratings that actual shipping costs go up annually and are out of the seller’s hands.
