Ebay collector Gary in a recent New York Times article displaying two recently won paintings. Thanks, Gary!
My name is Dan Lacey. I paint small, original oil paintings of people with pancakes on their heads, a continuing series of images featuring Barack Obama Nude On A Unicorn, and many other subjects. I live in Minnesota with my wife Twin Cities Minnesota harpist and vocalist Chris Ward, and three cats. I'm a published and collected artist, with previous studios at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas, The Mall of America, and Canterbury Park racetrack in Minnesota.
Many of the paintings which I post here on Ebay are also posted to my Faithmouse blog.
FAN FORUMS A few active forums, to which I post original material.
Portal Of Evil (Longest running. I also post on POE-NEWS and POE-TV under the name of my 'Timothy A. Bear' cartoon character.) Something Awful Faithmouse Megathread I (Over 300,000 views, now archived. I posted here as 'Timothy A Bear') Something Awful Faithmouse Megathread II (I post here now as 'DevilCat') ILXOR My paintings have been featured on ABC News.com, Fox News 'RedEye' program, CNBC Cable television, CNN.com, Attack Of The Show on the G4 network, BlackBook, Pajamas TV, Wonkette, Boing Boing, National Review Online, DailyKOS, Perez Hilton, ESPN The Magazine.com, Gawker, The Obama Art Report, Art Of Obama, The Financial Times of Germany print edition, The New York Times Sunday edition and online, CBS News Sunday Morning, and many additional. I recently had a painting included at the 'Officially Unofficial: Inspired Art For Obama' show at the Chicago Tourist Center. A painting of Eight Belles specifically requested by PETA was used at their 2009 Kentucky Derby protest. I currently contribute paintings to a request series at Gawker.
Many of the paintings which I've auctioned here on Ebay have gone on to become iconic viral images. A number of my paintings have auctioned for hundreds of dollars, but many others have sold for as low as 99 cents.
A consistent comment is that buyers are surprised that the paintings are much more impressive 'in person' than they appear online. The color is richer and deeper than what I can capture with either my scanner or camera, and there's a physical presence of brush strokes and texture which doesn't translate well over the internet. Because many of my originals are between the size of a photograph and a sheet of copier paper, they mail for a nominal price, are displayable in many places in your home or office, and can be elaborately framed without breaking your budget.
Praise: Super, Dan. My friend will love it! Thank you!

I'm happy to accept commissions; a custom 5 by 7 inch pancake portrait is $75, and an 8 by 10 inch Obama Unicorn starts at $200. All of my paintings are oil on sheet canvas.
