Prevent foot odor and smelly feet!

Fortunately, foot odor can almost always be avoided, as it usually is caused by bacteria that live on feet, in socks or shoes. If feet do not get enough fresh air, and moisture accumulates in shoes, then the smell is getting worse.

How to prevent moisture in your shoes, boots and sneakers?
* Keep your feet dry and clean.
* Wash your feet daily with soap and water.
* Talcum powder also helps to keep your feet dry and odor-free. You may powder your socks with talcum in order to increase the effect.
* Wash and change your socks frequently.
* Always keep your shoes clean - even from the inside! Sneakers can be washed in a laundry bag in the washing machine.
* If they do not use your shoes, keep them in a dry, cool place.
Foot odor is usually caused because of bacteria living in socks and shoes. This effect is increased if fresh air cannot circulate within shoes. For people who suffer from smelly feet, breathable or leather shoes are therefore better suited than shoes made of plastic.
If you quickly get infections such as athlete’s foot, you should treat the infection with appropriate means. Consult with your doctor for appropriate treatments. Also a pharmacist can suggest useful tips and advice in order to combat athlete’s foot.
Another great possibility is the use of anti odor insoles which you can insert into your shoes. These insoles absorb moisture and thus keep your feet dry. Most insoles contain activated charcoal or an antibacterial surface.
