Art by Merri - (froghzs) Merri While attending a local college I worked toward a Graphic Arts degree, then my interest changed somewhat toward fine art, so I started studying fine art as a minor toward my degree. I completed several fine art courses while in college, including airbrushing, drawing, and painting - but was left a bit confused. I graduated college as a member of the International Honor Society, Phi Theta Kappa in 2000, and received my Graphic Arts degree, and a minor in fine art. After graduating - I've been mostly self-taught. I've continued to study and experiment, and read any and everything I could get my hands on. I've taken several workshops but I truly try to avoid them now because I don't want to be influenced by another artist's work - I want my own style to develop. After 18 years, I'm finally seeing my "style" emerging. I LOVE to experiment and do so on a very regular basis. I believe every true artist has a unique vision that they struggle to portray. I also enjoy competing in Art Shows for the experience of it - and offer demos for anyone that wants to learn something new. My next big project is to get accepted into the American Watercolor Society.
