Welcome to the Front Door Records Auction to Support the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation
As part of our celebration of the holidays, we are auctioning signed copies of the CD single "Auld Lang Syne", as well as concert tickets and an opportunity to meet Kate and James backstage at a concert. 100% of the net proceeds raised from our auctions will be donated in the winner's names to the foundation.
About this Version of "Auld Lang Syne"
Kate Taylor first performed "Auld Lang Syne" on Martha's Vineyard during her New Years '98 concert. Touched by the sentiment of Robert Burns' beautiful lyrics, Kate's Producer and husband, Charlie Witham, wrote a lyrical adaptation. One night when James was over for dinner, Kate sang the lyrics for him, and James began composing the guitar arrangement on the spot. What has evolved from then is a beautiful and touching rendition of an old classic. As Kate says, "Reflecting upon the song it became clear that the underlying sentiments have more than just a seasonal value. Yet at the close of each year there's communicating we all need to do, because it's all about community. The beauty of "Auld Lang Syne" is in its simplicity. Since our own performance of it is from the heart, we hope that's where it goes. "
