Greetings: Please read the following before bidding on any of our auctions: your bid means that you have read and agree to all of the following:
1. We do not describe the condition of a dust jacket, if present.
2. We do not reckon a previous owner's name as writing in the text. Some books that we list as in "very good condition, no underlining in text that we have found" will have a previous owner's name. We do not answer questions regarding presence or absence of previous owners' names.
3. We do not sell books that have a musty, damp, or mildew odor.
4. Our feedback shows that we ship quickly, but once the package is brought to the Post Office, it is out of our hands. Media rate shipping on small orders routinely takes up to 3 weeks, although 10-14 business days is more the norm. Please do not write 4 days after paying asking, "Where is my book?" or leave negative feedback 6 days after paying, saying "Book never came!!!!!!"
5. We sell hundreds of books a week. Therefore, we have not time to do the following:
a. Tell you when your book shipped. If you pay within 48 hours of auction's end, we usually get your book out within 48hours.
b. Provide a free tracking number.
c. Negotiate shipping reductions. As our product desciptions state, we charge shipping and handling. We combine shipping from any ONE auction cycle to save you shipping.
e. Check email everyday. We aim for two no-computer days per 6 day work-week. That means we don't even turn the thing on. We remember when book dealing was a more restful activity, and when it didn't take 7 emails to sell one 3.50 book. If you are one of those people who lives by your machine, and who can't understand why we haven't answered any of the 3 emails you sent in the last 90 minutes, please do business with someone else.
6. We conduct no business on Sunday.
7. We don't answer "How much underlining?" questions. That is a subjective call. One person's "slight ink underlining" is another's "heavy underlining throughout." We will not count the number of pages on which there are marks. Sometimes we provide that in our initial descriptions, if the amount of marking is small enough, but we will not do it upon request. Generally speaking, from a seller's point of view, the more questions of this type that a buyer asks the greater the chance that they buyer will complain about a product, demand a price reduction, or a return for which we must pay postage.
8. We do not drop-shop or ship to 3rd parties. We lose all rights of economic redress with ebay and paypal if we do not ship to the address of the winning bidder. We reserve the right to refuse all bids involving 3rd parties. If we are notified after the auction is over that a 3rd party is involved, we will ship the product only to the address of the winning bidder.
9. Lastly, let's all realize that this is a fallen world, and sometime some of it falls on you. If we make an error, we will do our best to remedy it. Just let us know.
We don't mail out-of-country anymore. Too many "lost books." We will not reply to any out-of-country buyer requests to waive this policy.
