The Gemmary is dedicated to serving the serious antique scientific instrument collector. For the past 10 years, we have been providing our discriminating clients with the finest pieces available (for their age and rarity). Collectors rely on our unique ability to acquire rare and sometimes one-of-a-kind pieces not available in the auction market. At a client's request, we will also actively search for any specific item.

Always catering to the collector, The Gemmary handles a full range of scientific instruments. However, we specialize in the following areas:

Our primary sources are old private and institutional collections. With the utmost discretion, we aid collectors and institutions in upgrading, deaccessioning, or changing the focus of their collections. We trade for their pieces, purchase them outright, or sell them on consignment.

The Gemmary rarely participates in major scientific instrument auctions because we do not wish to compete with our clients for items to which they have equal access. Therefore, our role at these auctions is that of consultant to our clients, providing advice on comparable pieces and their availability.
