THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF PRIMITIVE DOLLS
I would just like to take this time to thank all my wonderful customers..And to welcome you to my wonderful world of Primitive Dolls.
Within an old fashioned country home there dwells a maker of dolls, sculpted and structured by the "nimble fingers" of Gerri Drobot, and thence, is the beginning of my business entitled "Nimble Fingers Keepsakes", and keepsakes they are.
Even before this doll comes into being, it is researched, then my "nimble fingers" continue onto the drawing board in my workshop to be sketched out, and then brought forth to fabric.
This doll is made with loving care from fabrics selected from all over Northeastern U.S. The chosen fabric is then put through a dying Primitive Process to give the doll a unique aged look.
Each outfit, each pattern, each doll a separate challange. Each doll differs with unique facial features, delicately drawn, patiently hand sewn or hand painted, cut and stuffed. Next the outfits are made, handfitted and then handsewn to fit.
Now comes a special time consuming two to four hour process of preparing the doll for an extreme aging process. I feel it is well worth the effort to make this doll a collectors item.
Last but not least, hand applied hair is then put on from selected yarn, styled to fit their individual appearance.
This doll is then signed and dated, and comes to you with love and affection from whence they first began.
