Don Hinks of Gettysburg Electronics
|
|
My name is Donald Hinks. Since 1972, my wife Joan and I have owned and operated Gettysburg Christian Bookstore and Gettysburg Electronics in downtown historic Gettysburg, PA.
In the late 1960's, I purchased my first metal detector and became fascinated with the hobby. It was only natural that metal detectors became part of our business in 1972. We started out with four quality brands including White's, Fisher, Compass and Metrotech. Presently we stock six quality brands, with an inventory of about 150 instruments, new and preowned.
My hobbies include metal detecting, collecting pottery and china manufactured in Carroll County, Ohio and doing research and writing in the areas of early well drilling equipment and Brethern Church history.
My formal education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Akron and a Master of Divinity degree from Grace Theological Seminary.
For many years we also specialized in antiquarian books with a specialty in German-American imprints. We plan to sell much of the remainder of our stock of imprints on eBay as well as numerous metal detectors and accessories.
Please see our website, listed below, for information on the detector side of our business Gettysburg Electronics.
