We specialize in quality, handmade, and historically accurate 17^th, 18^th, and early 19^th Century reproduction clothing from the finest natural fabrics and trims.  Natural fabrics are pure cotton, wool, linen, and silk, which do not contain polyamides such as polyester blends or nylon.  We constantly strive to keep the quality of the workmanship and fabrics top notch while at the same time maintaining affordable prices.

While we are new to eBay, we are not new to living history. Ghost Forge^{/SUP> has been involved in colonial re-enacting since 1992.  What originally begun as a blacksmithing business to pay for the endezvous habit our blacksmith partner suffered a spinal injury in the fall of 1997, which resulted in a change in direction.  Of the 3 people involved at that time, 2 were full-figured women who were unable to find re-enactment clothing which fit, that was flattering, and historically correct.   The focus of Ghost Forge/SUP> turned to period clothing for the full-figured woman.}  

Having been abused by the commercial clothing industry, it was decided that a Ghost Forge lady size Small would be the equivalent to a modern commercial woman size 18/20.  Apparently, a substantial number of full-figured ladies have felt abused by the clothing industry because wee gotten a lot of hugs, thank-yous, and t-a-girls  Wee even witnessed tears of joy and gratitude!

Within a very, very short time, we were overwhelmed with orders and began to grow.  Ghost Forge^{/SUP> is a true cottage industry, comprised of stay-at-home moms and grandmas who live in the vicinity of Crawfordsville, Indiana.  We love to point out that verything we make is made one piece at a time at home with love by MomSM.SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes">}  We take great pride that each of our garments are hand made with personal pride here in the USA.

It quickly became apparent that Ghost Forge^{/SUP> was filling a real need.  By the end of the first year, the Ruben Manhad become a reality with a line of men clothing from size XS (30-32) thru 5X (62-64) and beyond.  The women line, Rubenesque Fashionswas expanded to include smaller sizes.  Rubenesque Fashionsnow encompasses dress sizes PA (0/1) thru 2X (34/36) because we found that petite ladies had the same difficulty finding properly fitted, flattering, and historically accurate re-enactment clothing as full-figured ladies.   It pays to listen to your customers!!!}
