I 52 years YOUNG.. as long as ALEVE is offered for sale!! LOLI recently retired from the U.S. Navy and now enjoy being home, and along with my husband (and a lot of work from contractors!) am working on our old 116 year old 4 bay Southern, making many changes to the inside to make it more conducive to my primitive antiques, old finds and folk art. We almost are at completion with our new garage and I will have an entire upstairs of this building as my new crafts roomcan wait to get organized!!!! I began collecting in 1970 when my grandmother gave me her old butter churn and crock bowls. Then in 1977 I picked up my first issue of Country Living magazine and the collecting ugreally hit me. I was stationed in Mississippi at the time and found so many pieces I still retain in my home today. Then in 1979 I was stationed onboard ship in beautiful Charleston, SC and found a whole different world of antiques traveling from there to New England collecting and finding my first early dolls, textiles, penny and hooked rugs, yellow and red ware, pewter and painted piecesI was in love!! I began crafting, doing shows and then had a brokered wholesale marketing business for my dolls from 1987-1994. Of course, the Navy always wins and had to drop what I was doing and move on. But again, in 1998 when I discovered ebay, I began selling dolls and penny rugs and sold my first piece on ebay in Dec 1998. So I have sold off and on here on ebay since that time. But I am very excited about being able to work my rugs and folk art full time now. My husband is again deployed with the Navy, so I can truly say, working my primitive pieces and folk art really helps with emotional stress! Thank you so much for stopping by.
