Policies Summary
Basic Stuff
*Payment*
Payment methods-Please read the auction carefully as the payment methods accepted will be listed on each auction.
In general-
It's simple. We expect payment within 7 days after auction ends. If payment is not received we DO file a non paying bidder complaint with eBay and we will leave a negative and relist your item.
- Personal Items-I only accept Paypal and you MUST be verified please.
- Store Items-We accept all major credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover) for items that we are selling from our physical storefront in Connecticut. We also accept paypal (verified only)
- Drop Shipped Crystal Items- All custom crystal is drop shipped from the crystal engraver. We do not carry crystal in our store. We only have samples for our customers to view. Please allow up to 3 weeks for custom crystal orders. During peak holiday times the lead time will be longer. The cut off date for to receive crystal by Christmas is generally December 5th.
- Drop Shipped Heartwood Creations- If shopping at our store, we may also have some of our Heartwood pieces drop shipped directly to you. While we generally have plenty of inventory of the Heartwood pieces in stock, we sometimes will run out of a particular piece. You can wait for the item to be shipped to us and we will in turn ship it to you or you can pay extra to have the item sooner by having Heartwood drop ship it. We do not place any Heartwood pieces on eBay without having them in stock, however we inspect every piece before we ship and on rare occasions a piece may be defective or not up to our standards. In that case we will notify you of any problems and you can then choose to wait for more inventory to arrive at our store, choose to have the item drop shipped and agree to the drop ship fee assessed to us by Heartwood or you may cancel and receive a full refund.

ONCE AGAIN-Regarding Paypal payments. We only accept paypal payments from verified paypal users and we only ship to the address on your paypal account. This is for your security. If you are not a verified paypal user, and wish to pay by paypal, please do not bid.

Absolutely NO e-check funded paypal payments!!!!!!! I don't know how to make this more clear. It's on our auctions. It's on the emailed invoices. It's right here in red lettering! Still we keep getting paypal payments funded with echecks. If you pay by echeck WE WILL CANCEL YOUR PAYMENT AND EXPECT PAYMENT TO BE MADE IMMEDIATELY with ANY ONE OF THE FOLLOWING PAYPAL FUNDING SOURCES. DEBIT CARD, CREDIT CARD, DIRECT WITHDRAWAL FROM YOUR BANK ACCOUNT. If you can't use paypal without using echeck funding or if you can't figure out how to pay using another paypal funded source please do not bid!!!!

Again, direct payment using Mastercard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted for merchandise sold from our stores, On A Whim Gift Baskets and 1AndOnlyGifts.com Due to our credit card processor's rules, we cannot accept credit cards for personal sale items that myself or my employees are selling on my eBay account.
*Shipping*
- At this time we have decided to ship using USPS Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation. UPS, Fedex et al are getting way too expensive for our customers.
- We do pack everything to exceed carrier requirements but stuff happens from time to time with packages and the automation equipment the carriers use. It's unfortunate that we have to post that, and we do not want to come across as being harsh, however I had a bad experience with a buyer who won a collectible PEZ dispenser and wanted it shipped via USPS without insurance against our advice. It arrived damaged and the buyer became very nasty, accused us of knowingly shipping damaged merchandise and then even tried to extort money from us. Bad situation and not one we want to go through again.
We usually ship personal items we put up for sale within 2-3 days AFTER we receive your payment. If you need your item to ship sooner, please email me and I will see what I can do for you.
If an item is from our store, we try and ship within 1-2 business days after we receive your payment. If there is an unforseen delay, we will notify you. The exception to this is the custom crystal. Please allow up to three weeks to receive. You WILL get your items in a timely manner. Drop shipped items are shipped by whatever carrier the manufacturer chooses but it's generally UPS. Shipping options for all items are posted in each auction and sometimes cannot be changed.
All Drop shipped items do require extra processing time and this is out of my control. Drop shipped items will be noted as such in the auction. If there is an unforseen delay in shipping, we will email you in a timely manner to let you know.
Packaging materials are not free, nor is the labor involved in packaging and processing your shipment. Your shipping charge not only covers the freight we must pay to get your item to you, it also covers all the supplies involved in shipping your item. (Bubble wrap/air pillows, bubble envelopes, toner for printing labels, the labels themselves, paying the shipping clerks). We feel our shipping and handling charges are more than fair and just about cover our costs. If you feel our shipping charges are unfair please do not bid on our items. Shipping is NEVER free, so when a seller offers free shipping, they are simply building it in to the cost of your item. We prefer to take the honest approach and charge you a fair price for shipping as well as a more than fair price for our auctions and buy it now/best offer deals!
*Feedback*
*Returns and Damaged Items*
- As with any normal auction, all sales are final. We will not accept returns unless we have grossly misrepresented an item.
- The auction itself is considered completed and closed once feedback is left or within 7 days after receipt of item. Please do not contact me after a month goes by and you've worn the item and now feel the item arrived damaged or was not as advertised. The refund you are looking for is not going to happen, sorry.
- If an item arrives damaged you must file a claim with the carrier. For USPS simply bring the item with packaging to the post office and fill out a claim form. Unfortunately we cannot provide assistance with insurance claims. You must file your own claim with them and collect your money. If you didn't insure, we are sorry but we can't be responsible.
- For any items that are damaged in transit- If your package is insured you must retain all packaging for carrier inspection. The carrier may not reimburse you unless they can see how the item was packaged and the actual damaged item. If you didn't insure your package then you may as well throw out the packing materials along with your item as you are out of luck anyway.
*Out of Stocks*
- Rarely an item may become out of stock after the auction closes. Again, this is rare and will only occur if your item is drop shipped from the manufacturer. If this does occur we can offer you a comparable choice of goods or you may request a full refund.

Sorry for the length of this policy page. Unfortunately I had to cover every possible scenario as I've been selling on eBay off and on for the last decade or so. If something specfic is listed here, chances are it's because it came up during the course of doing business. Now to get people to actually read and understand our policies I'd be one happy 'lil camper!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING PERSONALIZED CRYSTAL
Please allow up to three weeks after payment to receive your crystal. Custom pieces are of course non returnable. For you convenienence we have added a link to a page showing the monogram styles and fonts you can choose. PLEASE read it thoroughly. It contains important information regarding our custom crystal. Most importantly, when submitting your choice of monograms it is IMPERATIVE that you submit the initials of the person receiving the crystal in the order of their given name. For example, if the crystal is for a person by the name of John Robert Dunkin, you MUST submit JRD, regardless of the style monogram you choose. We change the initials around here, before we place your order with our engraver, according to the style you choose. Again, please do NOT submit the initials according to the mono style. Submit them according to what the person's initials actually are. We will not be responsible if you submit the order incorrectly so please be sure to follow the instructions!!!
