I'm available to reply to questions quickly. I have quite a bit of experience in most of the subject areas that I handle and I'm happy to suggest other related books or answer questions about content.. I welcome want lists and do searches for out-of-print titles (at no cost or obligation to buy).

I ship every day, Monday through Friday, so there won't be any delay in shipping your purchase. Books go out within 24 hours of receipt of payment and often go out the same day. I offer shipping with both the Post Office and UPS.

All books are packed securely for shipping - regardless of whether they are shipped via UPS or Media Mail. Small booklets or periodicals may be shipped in a rigid cardboard envelope, otherwise all books are shipped in cartons with bubble wrap and/or foam "peanuts" - never in padded envelopes which do absolutely nothing to protect the book. I pack them as if I were buying them.

I am very conservative in describing the condition of books - I adhere to very strict condition guidelines (unfortunately that's unusual with too many booksellers). I try to mention every defect, no matter how small or insignificant. The grading standards / terms are:

As New / Fine is to be used only when the book is in the same immaculate condition in which it was published. There can be no defects, no missing pages, no library stamps, etc., and the dust jacket (if it was issued with one) must be perfect, without any tears. (The term As New is preferred over the alternative term Mint to describe a copy that is perfect in every respect, including jacket.)

Very Good can describe a used book that does show some small signs of wear - but no tears - on either binding or paper. Any defects must be noted.

Good describes the average used and worn book that has all pages or leaves present. Any defects must be noted.

Fair is a worn book that has complete text pages (including those with maps or plates) but may lack endpapers, half-title, etc. (which must be noted). Binding, jacket (if any), etc. may also be worn. All defects must be noted.

Poor describes a book that is sufficiently worn that its only merit is as a Reading Copy because it does have the complete text, which must be legible. Any missing maps or plates should still be noted. This copy may be soiled, scuffed, stained or spotted and may have loose joints, hinges, pages, etc.

International bidders - I ship books internationally every day and welcome international buyers. Just be aware that books, being heavy, can be quite expensive to ship internationally and the US Postal Service has eliminated international surface mail so all packages must be shipped Air Mail. I'm always happy to quote the shipping costs of a book before you bid - just send me an email and I'll reply quickly. I do not charge any packing or handling fee for international shipments.
