 I am happy that you like my glass creations enough to find out more about who I am. I live in West Haven, Utah, which is approximately 30 miles north of Salt lake City and 10 miles west of Ogden.

GLR'S-Lampwork Beads, Marbles and unique Glass Art

About GLRS-Lampworks

 I was a cabinet maker for 13yrs and enjoyed wood working, but felt that there was something missing in the creative process. I also worked with stained glass and during this time I discovered the lampworking process. I started lampworking in 1998, and this began my love affair with hot glass. I think glass is absolutely magic. During this time I played at the torch after work, and in my spare time. I'm happy to give you a little glimpse into the process of lampworking. In the pictures I am making a small marble with a multi colored swirl, using a torch that is specially designed for lampworking. I start by gathering a ball of glass on the end of a glass rod, then I use a couple of graphite molds to help me shape the glass into a round sphere. I add a few stripes of glass in different colors and and melt them smooth. Then by heating the glass and twisting it I create the fun swirl around the marble. It's back to the molds a few more times for the final shaping so that I end up with a perfect sphere. After the marble is finished it's placed in a kiln and annealed to relieve the stress in the glass and assure that the marble will last for generations to come. In March 2003 a friend convinced me to try doing this full time. I also discovered eBay during this time, and haven't looked back since. I strive to make each bead, marble or sculpture a work of art.
