Hi, so glad you came to visit. Let me tell you 'About Me' With the help of parents , a partial scholarship and an after school job, I was able to go to college. Came out with a BA in Teaching and a BFA in Fine Arts. Lucky to have found a job teaching art in an inner city middle school, but I always had my hands in some type of craft work. In the late 70 , I got interested in doll houses and began to make furniture. My style was golden oak Victorian. I made a catalog, signed up for some craft shows and Ipso Facto Studios was born. Strange name , I know but IFS are my initials, and I thought if the business fails, at least I have monogrammed stationary to use. Did well for 10 years but it became too much with my teaching job and wife and mom duties. While they say " opposites attract" , the one thing hubby and I had in common was collecting. And we collected everything. We have always been great flea market buddies. After 32 years of teaching , I retired in 2002. I was looking for something crafty to do, again. Had a cousin who sold neck ties and when he moved from a house to an apartment, he had no room for all of his out dated stock. I took all of his ties, about 2000 in all. I stared at them for about a month and came up with an idea to make women purses, and little girls skirts. I am doing craft shows again. Now my son is married to a lovely girl and they have given us two wonderful grandsons. When I think of the legacy we are leaving for them ( a million collections of anything and every thing ) I had to sit down and re-evaluate. And hubby says "they don want that stuff". Keep this a secret between you and me but he right ! So we have decided to sell our tuffand put the money in the college fund. We are having as much fun selling it as we did buying it.
