About Me:
I'm located in sunny Syracuse, NY, which is upstate near
Rochester and the Adirondacks (not New York City). I've actually been
selling on eBay for many years, once upon a time under a different account name,
where I had earned a feedback rating of over 2000, over 99% positive. At this time I also had a loyal retail mail
order customer base. The business I worked for has
been on the web as long as eBay has - since 1995. Now I've moved on to other work as a software engineer and web
developer/designer, and I'm also selling on eBay once again. As a seller nothing is more important to me than
communication and customer
service. I have a 30-day money-back guarantee on all my items.
Am I actually a gnarled gnome? No. I am a 6'1" human and not in any way gnarled or gnomish. The name came partially
from a joke with some friends that just wouldn't die, and somehow it ended up as my eBay ID. Some of my friends call me an elf but I do not
work for or even believe in a roly-poly gift giver in a red suit (it's a nice story though).
Terms & Policies (see item listings):
Detailed store policies (including shipping methods, amounts, returns, etc.) are included
in each item listing. These may vary somewhat in details such as shipping amount from item to item, so check the
descriptions. The policies are generally consistent, however, especially for items of the same general type such as
books,
which are one of my specialties (however, books of different sizes and types do have slightly different shipping
amounts - all details are included in each description). Please contact me if you have any questions. I'll send you
a confirming email at the end of each
auction or listing (within 3 business days, but usually same or next business day) that includes these policies as a reminder and will
include a total amount for items, shipping & handling, insurance if requested, and sales tax (only on orders
shipping to within New York State).
A Note on Book Condition:
I basically use the AB Bookman's system of book condition rating (a trade standard),
with a slight deference to the terms of everyday speech in order to make my descriptions more understandable. A
description of this book rating system can read by clicking here. The condition of my items is described in greater detail than any other seller I am aware of. Buyers often say in their feedback "better than described," but I am only trying to give as much detail as feasible so you know what you're getting.

A Note about Shipping:
I pride myself on my nearly-indestructible packaging. Something might happen to it if Godzilla steps on it. If he does, notify me immediately, because I guarantee all my items. Books normally ship Media Mail, usually within 2 business days, which can take up to two weeks or longer but usually arrives within a few days. If you prefer Priority Mail, let me know, or if a specific rate for Priority is included in the item listing send that amount. I know many sellers have said this before, but many new online shoppers seem to be unaware of this fact of life, so I will repeat it: I can't control the USPS. Shipping times are not guaranteed. However, unlike many sellers I will ship your package almost immediately, so you can expect to receive it fairly quickly. I've had an extremely high rate of satisfaction with both domestic and international shipments (check out my feedback). I Don't Believe in a Dissatisfied Customer:
If anything is wrong with your order, TELL ME AT ONCE and I will immediately work to rectify the situation. Product replacements (when possible) and refunds are available within 30 days. My packaging is indestructible, I ship promptly, and describe each item in excruciating detail so you know exactly what you're getting (much moreso than most of the sellers I've purchased from)... however, an accident may happen, and if it does I WILL FIX IT IMMEDIATELY. Every eBay experience should be a positive experience.
My 30-Day Quality and Service Guarantee:
When an auction ends, you will be sent a confirmation email within 3 BUSINESS days (i.e. non-holiday weekdays) of auction close, although it will most often be within 1 business day. When I receive your payment (including echecks clearing your account, if you pay by PayPal echeck), I will confirm receipt of payment and shipment of the item by email, again within 3 business days. I GUARANTEE my items and shipments. All items are described in the greatest detail possible, and any flaws of which I am aware are noted in the description. Orders will be shipped promptly upon receipt of full payment. Please bear in mind that standard mail may take 2 weeks or longer to arrive, although it is usually quicker. Please contact me within 30 days of shipment if there is any problem whatsoever with your item or shipment, and I will immediately work to rectify the situation, including either replacing the item (if I can) or sending you a FULL REFUND. (I may require that you send the item back to me before replacement or refund, depending on the circumstances.) I care about my customers, and there is absolutely no reason for you not to be entirely happy with your purchase. If for any reason you are dissatisfied, let me know right away (before leaving feedback please) and I WILL FIX IT ASAP.

I have been both a buyer and seller on eBay, and as a buyer I will not deal with any seller under 99% positive feedback unless I am getting a ridiculous deal. The way I see it, you're gambling if you buy from anyone under 99% positive. That's how demanding I am as a customer when it comes to service and satisfaction, and I treat my own customers the way I would wish to be treated in an ideal world (way over 99% positive).
