As an avid book reader and primarily a book seller, it didn't take me long to come up with an eBay id because I believe that most books should be shared and thus, going around again. I started selling to keep myself busy in retirement and I absolutely love what I am doing! The treasure hunting - traveling around the state and finding those precious books and then presenting them for auction - is very exciting for me. The majority of my auctions will be book lots as books are what I know best and gravitate to naturally. I find some wonderful authors in my hunts and it's like finding real gold when I discover an exciting pile of books at the bottom of a box of clothes or under a stack of magazines. Although I can't begin to guess where my items originated I am very sensitive to smoke and "sniff" everything out carefully before I make a purchase. If it hints of smoke, it remains where I found it. My home is smoke free and I can assure you that my items will be free of odor.

I've been planning to open a store for some time now and I FINALLY DID IT! In addition to my usual book offerings, I plan to sell vintage textiles. I've collected vintage textiles for many years now and it's time to re-home them. Watch for them to start appearing in my store this summer, 2009.


Books, Books & More Books

I am striving to keep a minimum of 500 books available at all times, whether they be auction or store format. My paperback books are generally in very good well-cared for condition and I take my own pictures so the book you see is the book you'll get. I will seldom present ex-library books for auction but should I include one in a lot of books, it will be noted next to the book title. Also, whenever possible, I type a complete summary of each book so you can really get a feel for what you are purchasing. To simply buy a book without the opportunity of experiencing the rush of finding the perfect one is just losing out on too much in my opinion. A book should be like a friend - traveling down a road together sharing a similar experience - not a bad blind date!! I am open to requests so if you would like to try a particular author, just let me know and I'll do what I can.

Shipping Costs

Overcharging on shipping is a pet peeve of mine and I strive to keep my shipping costs to an absolute minimum. My shipping costs are based on weight and my handling charge is based on a per package basis as opposed to per item. I think my shipping cost is as fair as you'll find online. For example, the media rate for 1 paperback book is $3.10, 2-3 paperback books $3.65, 4-5 paperback books $4.00, 6-7 paperback books $4.35 etc. If priority shipping is more to your liking, the flat rate priority box holds approximately 12-14 paperback books and the rate stays at $11.00 up to the maximum the box will hold. The eBay Experience

eBay has been a terrific experience so far and I'm delighted that I became a member. I've met some wonderful people and I look forward to the opportunity of meeting more. I have a world map pinned up on the wall next to my computer where I track my sales and it's truly amazing that it is so easy to connect with people from all around the world. I never realized that retirement could be this much fun. Hope to tack a pin up on the wall for you!!
