FOUNDATION
Always apply to a clean moisturized face. Many people mix two foundation shades and can be mixed to achieve your perfect shade.
Shake-Step (1)
Gently shake the container with the lid on. Always tap the top of the lid before opening the jar so you can start out with a minimal amount of minerals. If there is still too much in the lid, replace and tap again.
Starting with a small amount of minerals in the lid, angle your brush and swirl vigorously into the lid until all the minerals are absorbed into the tapers of your brush.
Swirl & Tap-Step (2)
Gently angle the face brush as you swirl it into the minerals in the lid to absorb color into the brush. (Note: The angle of the brush is very important to avoid crushing the bristles, which are tapered to evenly pick up and distribute color.) Keep swirling the brush around until the crushed minerals are completely infused into the bristles. There should be no visible minerals on the outside of the brush. Tap brush well one last time before applying.
Buff-Step (3)
Buff Bare Silk Minerals into your skin, starting on the outside of your face near your cheek bone, swirling as you go. Buff around your face then approach your forehead, buffing away frown lines. Buff Buff Buff, until you are satisfied with the coverage. Reapply until you achieve the look and amount of coverage desired.
BLUSHER-BRONZER
Next apply an all-over Blusher or Bronzer, all of which are very concentrated. There are many shades, one perfect for you. Follow application instructions for foundation. Using separate brushes is NOT required but is preferred.
BISQUE
Now apply Bisque, which is multi-purpose for covering blemishes, dark areas or as a base for eye shadows or glimmers. Use Bisque on your eye lids, under the eyes and on any area, as a cover up. Load Bisque lightly on a smaller brush and slightly tap off. Apply Bisque wherever you need to hide imperfections in a tapping motion and continue to tap until blended.
Bisque is also perfect for modifying or lightening other shades.
MINERAL VEIL
You can now apply Mineral Veil in the same manner as foundation. This sets your foundation, gives a finished appearance to your skin and absorbs excess oil. The Foundation and Blushers will give some of you the look you want without using Mineral Veil. Mineral Veil does not dry out your skin but does absorb excess oils.
CHEEK BLUSH
Find your cheekbone and apply your cheek blush upward and outward away from the face. These shades are very concentrated so please swirl your brush into the blush, load your brush and then tap off all excess before applying. Literally, pull the cheek color up and outward for a natural look. Please don create a round circle on the full heek apple
SHADOWS GLIMMERS
Shadows-Matte Eye Colors
Glimmers-Low, Medium and High Sparkle Shadows
Practice makes perfect. Many customers have questions about applying eye shadows. I hope to do a video soon, showing techniques for daytime and nighttime application. Try to select three colors that work well together. Till then, I hope this helps.
Lid-Primary Color
This shade should match or compliment your clothing or your iris.
Crease-Dark Shade, can be a Brown or Darker Primary Color
Under Brow-Highlight Shade-Almost any pale shade will work, even white.
Almond Shaped Eyes
Apply highlighter before shaping your brows. Cover all areas under your brow, down to the crease line. Layer the Primary Lid Shade till you have your desired color. Accent and uplift the corners of your eye, in a sideways "V" shape pointing slightly upwards and outward. This gives the appearance of Almond shaped eyes and makes the eye appear larger. A dark shade should follow the crease line precisely. Then blend outward, upward overlapping the primary shade.
Round Shaped Eyes
Apply under brow highlighter BUT just under the arch of your brow. When you apply the Lid Primary color, make the center portion of the lid darker. Blend the lid shade as above but very lightly, so the focus is drawn to the darker shade in the center of your eye. The crease shade should be higher/thicker (more visible) at the center of your eye but still pull the crease shade lightly, outward and upward.
BARE SILK MINERAL TIPS
~~~~A LITTLE BIT GOES A LONG WAY~~~~
Tip: All colored mineral makeup contains very concentrated
pigments. Chose your shades understanding, what you see is darker than it will appear when applied. Your ultimate shade is as pale or as dark as you like, based on how it applied.
Tip: Use a "TINY" bit of product to start. If you wish a darker/deep
shade, use the layering technique. It easier to add a layer
than to remove it all and start over. You will quickly learn how
much to apply, to achieve the look you want.
TIP: Tap, Tap, Tap off excess minerals before applying. Less is more.
Applying mineral makeup has a short learning curve but by
following the directions, you will be a pro in no time. The most
popular brush for foundations or any all over face powders is
the Kabuki. This short handled brush has soft, full bristles that
hold the minerals, till you are ready to apply.
Tip: Do not use sponge applicators with the eye shadows. We
recommend a good brush with short, firm bristles to gently
layer your shadows. Follow that with a shading brush to blend
shadows evenly and feather the edges.
Tip: We recommend investing in quality brushes to apply all of your
mineral makeup products. We designed each of our brushes
with the best mixed bristles for each application and specifically
for use with mineral makeup.
Tip: All matte mineral powders are multi-purpose. Blush can be use
for eye shadow or as lip color. Shadows can be used as shading
to define facial areas. Mix and blend shades together to create
unique, custom shades.
Tip: Shadows and Glimmers can be used Wet or Dry, for shadows or
liners. Sprinkle glimmers in your hair for a little nighttime
glamour and don forget the soft dolletarea.
TIP: If you have oily skin or T-Zone problem areas, Mineral Veil can
be applied under and on top of your Foundation. Bisque can
also be used in the T-Zone to absorb excess oil.
TIP: Unlike traditional makeup, Bare Silk Minerals is actually good
for your skin. It is so pure you can sleep in it. Many people who
experience breakouts, find their problems go away when using
our mineral makeup.
TIP: When possible, work from a small amount of product in the lid
of your container. This will prevent overloading your brush.
TIP: Have spare empty jars handy to experiment creating your own
custom shades. We will be happy to sell you extra jars for our
cost.
TIP: If shadows or liners, accidentally get onto the face area, do not
attempt to wipe them off. Use a cotton ball to dust away the
excess. Rubbing the excess will set the color in place.
