Specializing in hard to find vintage sheet music from Grandma's attic to Grandpa's treasure trove. This music is graded from near mint to good condition. See below the criteria for the different grades:
Near mint: almost mint, no writing, no observable flaws, almost new.
Excellent: Highly desirable for a collection or gift-giving. Near perfect and free of major defects, with no tears, no stains, corners are mostly sharp, only slightest handling wear. Original store stamp is permitted, but no writing anywhere. Can have a small corner crease or two, but must be light and very discernable, must be complete and readable.
Very Good: Collectible and appropiate for framing or gift-giving. A very clean piece with only small defects. No edge tears greater than 1/2 inch anywhere. 1 or 2 slight creases are ok, only some light soiling. Stains and other damage not allowed. Can have store stamp and/or owner's name written on cover, some light pencil notations are allowed inside on music. Up to 25% spine split allowed, but only if rest of piece is Very Good or better. A small piece of mending tape is allowed if the repaired tear is 1/2 inch or less.
Good: The average used piece, still collectible and good for framing. Defects can include handling wear, edge & corner wear, tears up to 1 inch, a light water stain or two (but no serious damage), writing, a label or store stamp on cover, or other acceptable defects. Can be mended inside with tape, but no tape on front cover, tape on back cover is ok and up to 100 % spine split is allowed in this grade if rest of the piece is in Very Good or better condition. Can be missing small piece of an edge or corner, but no more than 1/2 inch square or triangle. Must be complete and readable.
45 Record Grading: I use 3 grades: (1): Near Mint (NM), (2): Very Good Plus (VG+), (3): Very Good.
I play all records on both sides before listing. If i detect surface noise on either side, i toss the record. I don't pretend to be an expert on record grading. I go by what i hear and see in the record, and don't attempt to be so fine as to separate the pepper from the fly crap. I do the best i can in evaluating each record honestly so that buyer can make intelligent decision before buying or not buying. Below are the definition of my record grading.
(1): Near Mint (NM). The record plays with no surface noise, has no ring wear, clean label with no writing and show no signs of wear.
(2): Very Good Plus (VG+). The record plays with no surface noise, has minimal ring wear, a clean label with no writing or stickers (white promo stickers do not count as stickers), and will show some signs of wear with slight scuff marks or scratches that do not affect the sound.
(3): Very Good (VG). The record plays with no noticeable surface noise, center hole is not misshapen, label may have writing, marks, stickers (except white promo stickers), bb size holes, record surface shows extensive use that does not affect the sound.
