I started selling antiques and collectibles in 1969, and first sold on Ebay in September 1997, so I have more than 10 years' online selling experience. In 2000 I started selling books online on several venues, including Ebay.

I sell primarily non-fiction books with a few first edition novels and some children's books thrown in. I work hard to provide professional descriptions, but always do my best to provide additional details when asked.

If I've omitted important information or haven't made something clear, let me know and I'll do my best to fix it. Sometimes I get in a hurry.

Here is the story of Hector the Collector, a tale some of us can identify with:

Hector the Collector

Collected bits of string,

Collected dolls with broken heads

And rusty bells that would not ring.

Bent-up nails and ice-cream sticks,

Twists of wires, worn-out tires,

Old chipped vases, half shoelaces,

Gatlin' guns that wouldn't shoot,

Leaky boats that wouldn't float

And stopped-up horns that wouldn't toot.

Butter knives that had no handles,

Copper keys that fit no locks

Rings that were too small for fingers,

Dried-up leaves and patched-up socks.

Worn-out belts that had no buckles,

'Lectric trains that had no tracks,

Airplane models, broken bottles,

Three-legged chairs and cups with cracks.

Hector the Collector

Loved these things with all his soul--

Loved them more then shining diamonds,

Loved them more then glistenin' gold.

Hector called to all the people,

"Come and share my treasure trunk!"

And all the silly sightless people

Came and looked ... and called it junk.

-Shel Silverstein

I'm a one-man-band. I search for the books, buy them, store them, clean them when needed, research them, write the listings, take the pictures, answer the emails, package them, take them to the post office, and handle all correspondence. I try to provide personal service (How am I doing? See my feedback). I also sell books at Magnolia Antiques on Fair Oaks Boulevard in Carmichael, near Sacramento.

My Terms Of Sale.
I ship by USPS Media Mail or USPS Priority Mail within two days of receiving/clearing payments. My shipping fees (see the listing) include postage, quality packaging, rent, gasoline, my time AND guaranteed delivery!
I don't charge the post office's exhorbitant fees for delivery confirmation or insurance, but instead will immediately refund your payment if your purchase doesn't arrive within a reasonable time (14 days for Priority Mail, 30 days for Media Mail). I'll take your word for it.

Most buyers send payment as soon as they complete their purchase. For those who don't, I send a Paypal invoice with all the details needed to complete the payment. I expect an email response within three days, and payment within 10 days, in accordance with eBays guidelines. If you can't adhere to this schedule, no big problem, but please send me a note explaining why.

I'm happy to ship internationally. I use the post office for shipping, and prefer PayPal, US travelers Checks or International Money Orders. The winning bid amount will be reported on the customs slip, and duties/tariffs are the bidder's responsiblity.

I firmly believe in eBay's feedback rating system, and leave comments for every transaction. Your rating lets people see what kind of trader you are, before they risk their time and money. This is a huge advantage over real life!

Expecting the world to treat you fairly because you are a good person
is a little like expecting the bull not to attack you because you are a vegetarian."
-- Dennis Wholey
