Hi there, I'm Peggy and I've been sewing since I was a kid. I have a degree in Fashion Merchandising from the University of Oklahoma and have been creating and sewing my own designs since I was a teenager in the '70's. I absolutely LOVE IT!
I started making Rolling Stone magazine purses and selling them on eBay in 2002 and was wildly successful, but the wear and tear of sewing all of those heavy purses screwed up my elbow and wrist and I'm gonna have surgery in May 2009. When I'm able to sew again I'll mostly be making rock and roll clothing items - denim jackets, ladies shirts, halter tops, and skirts.
There are a lot of diy (do-it-yourself) clothing sellers on eBay, so I've got a lot of competition. I've also got a great reputation. I don't crank out dozens of items a week, I take my time so I can produce high-quality, well-made pieces that you'll be proud to own. I only use licensed t-shirts, and if I add additional fabrics and trims, I use the highest quality I can find.
I rarely auction my items because I feel that if you see something you like, you should be able to buy it now at a fair price. It just works out better for both of us.
I don't accept returns on clothing items. I carefully list all of the garment measurements so it’s up to the customer to be sure it will fit before purchasing. I spend hours of labor and a lot of money making each creation, and if I accepted returns then I would have to resell something that somebody else had worn. I don’t think my customers would like that, so I just don’t do it.
My work-room is in our home, which is smoke-free. My daughter has a kitty named Thomas, who is pictured above. I try to keep him away from my work area, but sometimes he just wants a little love. Who could resist that cute little face?
I LOVE IT when customers wear my clothes or take my purses to concerts and get them signed by celebrities. Customers have sent me pictures with Bono, Jon Bon Jovi, Steven Tyler, Billy Idol, and a host of others. Steven Tyler said my purses were cooler than @$#%! Thanks to eBay, I've sold stuff all over the world. You can find my eBay store at www.ThatsMyBagOriginals.com or www.GotYouPegged.com.
