Graceful Butterfly Hat Design

One-of-a-kind original design hats sweetly inspired by the elegant fashion of the 1900's Edwardian period to the the flirty 1920's flapper girl mode...Nouveau Vintage Hats...new hats with an essence of the past.  Each unique design has been created with new and vintage elements.  I also offer custom design work for my customers.  You can let me design the hat for you or you can give me a hat of your own to work off of...whichever you choose, I can create something beautiful for you to wear.  

My name is Sonia Caceres...I've been a creative soul for as long as I can remember...my artistic roots began within a box of Crayolas.  I endlessly indulged in artistic play from the time I discovered that colorful box of crayons until this day with my hat designing business. In between my creative indulgences, I dabbled in quite a few endeavors...fluttering my wings in many different directions as each sweet breeze softly blew my way.  

After years of participating in art fairs with my vintage inspired jewelry I designed that I had in galleries and shops across the city, I started collecting beautiful items from the past, which became my heartfelt passion.  Knowing that there was another life within the items, just sweetly touched my spirit.  I was always influenced by the early 1900's...that time period sweetly moved my soul...even as a child back in the early 60's.  I can remember walking down the cobblestone streets of "Yesterday's Main Street Exhibit" at the Museum of Science and Industry here in Chicago.  As I stepped down the street and peered in the old fashioned storefront window displays...I felt as if I was a part of it all...an old soul I truly am.  I instantly was comforted by the days of yesteryear as a child and still feel quite inspired by the fashion of that time period. I must've been a Gibson or flapper girl in another life...the styles of those eras truly echo throughout my designs.  

I opened my vintage shop "Sonia Simone" in the early 1990's...it evolved from the wonderful collection I had acquired...you can only collect so much before you run out of room...so opening a shop was my next venture in my life, which I ran for 12 years...but now I have closed it's doors...I'm flying over a new path...enlightened by beautiful sunbeams. 

My winding road has led me to create a website with a new name...Graceful Butterfly...in honor of my metamorphosis.  The free time from being bound by my retail storefront had enabled me to have an online business selling the lovely items that I have accumulated over the years...one lovely piece at a time. 

Now my life has evolved again...I'm designing vintage inspired hats and a line of clothing and purses...each one is a one-of-a-kind original design.  I offer custom design work too...my prices start at $125. and up...however during these hard economic times, I am offering my customers a custom hat at a lower cost too, I will work within your budget...that's the least I can do during this recession that we're in...just email me and let me know if that interests you.  I have sold my hats all over the world...it's as if my hats have their own butterfly wings to fly upon...fluttering the earth in wondrous flight.

Wherever my path leads me next is unknown at this point...but I will welcome the journey as all graceful butterflies do...

...O and I enjoying a beautiful day at the Butterfly Haven here in Chicago...you can't see them in the photos, but there are thousands of wondrous butterflies fluttering about this tranquil setting...one sweetly landed on us and sat still for awhile...it chose us to rest its weary wings...what a sweet treat for the soul that was...quite a magical moment for us both...we lovingly treasure that memory....and hold it close to our graceful beating hearts...a wondrous butterfly moment indeed...
