Grama's Gourds and Primitives


Grama's Gourds and Primitives. I chose that as my business because my grama passed away in 2000 so I packed up all her gourds and her paints and brushes. I took them with me. Everyone said I don't know what you think your gonna do with all those gourds, I replied well someday maybe i'll figure out how to paint. Well in October of 01 I sat down and tried my hand at it. Oh my goodness I could paint. My grama tried to show me how for years and nothin I use to get so frustrated she would just slap somepaint on the canvas and a beautiful painting. I would slap some paint on the canvas and thats just what it looked like some paint on a canvas. Anyways I made a snowman lamp gourd. I was so proud I showed my neighbor and she said thats too cute I want 2. I said what? I was just paintin for fun, well she ordered 2 then another neighbor ordered and so on. I went to a store in Charm to see if I could sell some to her and she ordered 20. Well that started my business and sense they were grama's gourds thats what I decided to call it. I started going through all her books and figuring out what she was trying to tell me all those years and now I can paint. Sometimes I think grama's just taking me through stroke by stroke. Well thanks for letting me share my story. I love to hear how people got from one thing to another as well, it's inspiring.  I would like to thank your for taking the time to read about me and I also would like to thank all whom have purchased items from me.  It puts a smile on my face everytime someone just comes in and looks at my work.  I am very thankful for all of you.  Some of you have become friends of mine, my ebay buddies.  The Lord brings people into our lives in strange ways but it's always a  blessing.  Thank you again....and God Bless.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but I also put a Scripture on each item that I paint.  Each scripture is different.  The reason being after I finish an item I open up my Bible or devotional and whatever the scripture is I put it on the finished product, then sign it.  I believe that each item is going to a specific person and God knows who that is and thats who needs that scripture.  May God Bless and Keep You Safe....
