Sentimental Old Fools
Great Grandfather once said, "Hey there now, don't ya be throwin those things out! Why, those are valuable heirlooms brought over with us from Scotland an Ireland, an it harm none to hang onto them a while, might be worth something to the wee ones someday". After Grandfather had passed away, his belongings all in boxes were brought to Grannys porch to reside beside her sisters things, which had been underneath several boxes of Great Great Grandmothers things, which had toppled over onto her Great Aunt Myrtles things, which now were scattered amongst Pops things. "Oh foo" snapped Granny, surveying the mess, "Big fat hassle of a mess" she snapped. "Biggest bunch of mess, its all just old junk". "Feller can't even walk out here" Granny snapped angrily, as she took quick glances through the many boxes of memories and trinkets on that hot old back porch. The many boxes that had, over the years, grown to spill out into the garage and take up space in her spare room as well. "Well Granny, then why did 'you' decide to keep all this stuff all these years then if its just junk?" I had asked foolishly, and her reply was nothing more than a long eery silence..............and the thousand mile stare. So I shut my smart mouth and went back to work, cleaning Grannys back porch.

Well I'm currently on a cleaning frenzy in my own home this season, so my hubby and I are selling YEARS of accumulated items that have slowly built up and taken over the house. We need the space back to get around so we don't end up falling and breaking a hip or something. We have both had a terrible habit of picking things up here and there to drag home, where it quickly went into this corner or that corner, wherever it needed to go to 'tidy up' before the holidays.....year after year, after year! Well its time for us to find a shelf life on these things and just save a couple of treasures for ourselves. I'm sure we may kick ourselves later on, but who has the space to store it all? Certainly not us. I wish we did have the room. All our items may be used, new, vintage, antiques, salvage, surplus, rescued or found (trust me, you have no idea "what kind of crazy" might get listed), so save us to your favorites and keep watching, some whacky items are bound to get listed on occassion. We have some strange things in our collection, some items we don't even know 'what it is' or 'what for' their so old or just 'out there'. Items may have come from Great Grandpas barn, Aunt Madges attic, Great Grammas trinket box, Dads shed, Mamas sewing room, Uncle Phils truck, Daughters closet, Granddaughters toybox, estate sales, the beach, dirt road finds, resale shops and flea market finds, and it all somehow wound up here! Because many of the items are old, all are sold in AS IS AS FOUND condition and we will state the items condition as closely as possible and include photos that will hopefully help. So ask questions before bidding by emailing us through the 'contact seller' button via eBay. We try to gather the information needed to answer emails within a couple days and we answer in the order they come in so please be patient. Unless otherwise stated, we do not attempt to clean an item outside of light dusting if necessary, due to the negative effect it can have on the value of some of the more vintage pieces. However, if it's antique medicine bottles, Aladins lamp or something else the old man dug up, then I may have had to clean it a bit more to figure out what it was exactly, either way we'll try to mention what's been done or where the item listed was found. We've picked up some great items at estate sales over the years, and have a bad habit of putting them away in boxes that were forgotten until now. We'll even be listing some old clothing of our daughters and some of my old things that well, ......lets just say my gain in age and weight is your gain. We are also a crafty talented family of artists, so you will occassinally see some of that get listed as well. You know how some things seem like such a good idea at the time, and then you wake up and wonder, "What the heck was I thinking?" Well we have a lot of that around here to get rid of too.

Payments
PayPal is the fast and secure preferrence. Items are shipped upon receipt of payment (to US addresses only at this time), and items not paid within 5 days of close of auction may have to be relisted and appropriate action taken through eBay as well as appropriate feedback left. We can be flexible however, so please email us if there is a problem or if you have any questions.
Shipping info
Once again, items are shipped upon receipt of payment. We generally use USPS depending on the item since USPS has changed their policy from weight to shape. Also, we combine the insurance automatically for your convenience on most items of significant value or age, and Grannysbackporch is not responsible for items once left at the post office. (Insurance is also available for regular items, but you need to request we add it into the invoice BEFORE we submit the invoice to you for payment, immediately following the close of auction!) Any information or tracking numbers will be passed along to you through email at your request.
Returns
Ebay is exciting and a lot of fun, but we seriously want you to be happy with your item. If for some reason your item is not what you expected, please email us through the contact seller link so that we may work with you to resolve the issue and insure a smooth return process if necessary. Items returned within five days in original condition and packaging will be fully refunded minus the shipping.
Contact information
We want you to be satisfied with your item/items, so please do not hesitate to email us via the eBay contact seller link with any questions you may have before bidding. We try to answer all questions in the order they come in and within a couple of days if we can, so please be patient with us.
