POSTAL STRIKE DELAYS

Wednesday 28th October - Royal Mail is currently experiencing industrial strike action by it's workers which is affecting delivery times on our orders. A new strike is expected to take place tomorrow (Thursday 29th) and Friday. We're awaiting confirmation, but if the strike does go ahead as planned please expect delivery delays on orders purchased between Thursday and Monday. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers.

If you've seen our Fair Practice Seller sign on our listings and wondered what it means, it's about our commitment to fair dealing practices with customers which is enshrined in the Customer Charter opposite.

We came up with the idea of Fair Practice Seller and the Customer Charter as a way to provide extra reassurance for buyers dealing with sellers on eBay. It also serves to set the benchmark standard for sellers to follow which provides a fair and level playing field for all sellers.

Sellers interested in becoming Fair Practice Sellers are welcome to join. Membership is free. All that is required is a commitment to uphold the Customer Charter and deal fairly on eBay. Registered sellers can display the Fair Practice Seller on their listings.

  • Buyer Protection We offer the same level of buyer protection as Paypal on all purchases paid for through our website checkout service, regardless of the payment method used. All purchases are fully insured against loss or damage.
  • Honesty & Fairness Everything we sell is described accurately and honestly to the best of our abilities. We never use false or misleading information to sell products. We always keep our word and offer refunds or replacements, subject to our normal terms and conditions.
  • Timely Communications We aim to reply to all e-mails as quickly as possible, and will usually reply within 1-2 hours.
  • Fair Postage & Packaging Charges We do not profit from postage and packaging with excessive or inflated charges. We aim to keep our postage and packaging charges as low as possible.
  • Safe & Secure Packaging We take special care to ensure all goods are packaged adequately and securely to ensure your order arrives in perfect condition and undamaged.
  • Respect for Privacy We respect our customers right to privacy. Any details given to us by customers are used solely for fulfilling orders. We never sell or pass on customers details to third parties.

We are Greatbuys.co.uk based in the beautiful countryside of Worcestershire, in the heart of England. Home to Shakespeare and Worcestershire Sauce among many other things!

We sell just about anything on eBay. Our listings range from health products, to clothes, technology products, and occasionally antiques! Our listings change regularly, but whatever we sell it's always great value for money and a "greatbuy"!

We absolutely love our customers! Our customers are our friends and we treat them as such. Nothing is more important to us than customer satisfaction and happy customers. That's why we're always willing to go further and provide a level of a service that truly sets us apart from other sellers. This is reflected in our feedback and the praise we receive from customers around the world in over 50 countries (and counting)!

We usually only put a small selection of our popular products on eBay. You can find a lot more products being offered on our website at www.greatbuys.co.uk. Our website began as extension to our eBay selling but is still a "work in progress" so it may be a little clunky in places.

On a side note, we are also eBay developers and are currently working on new website for easier searching and selling on eBay called Xenbay. Anyone interested in trying out the new website can find it by visiting www.xenbay.com.

  • 2. Payment

  • 2.1 Buyers or winning bidders are required to make payment for items within 7 days.
  • 2.2 Where payment cannot be made within 7 days for whatever reason, we request that customers contact us.
  • 2.3 Unless otherwise arranged, payment must be made using online using PayPal, by personal cheque or by BACS bank transfer.
  • 2.4 Under no circumstances will we take cash payment or allow callers in person to collect goods.
  • 3. Shipping

  • 3.1 We make no guarantees on shipping and delivery schedules. Delivery times stated in our listings are estimations only, and actual delivery times may vary.
  • 3.2 We are not responsible or liable in anyway for late deliveries.
  • 3.3 Unless stated otherwise, items are sent insured to the value of £36 GBP.
  • 4. Lost or Damaged Items

  • 4.1 Whilst we can't be held responsible for items lost or damaged in the post or while in transit, we will offer replacement, or refund at our discretion.
  • 4.2 Where an item is lost or damaged and we decide to offer a replacement, we may send a replacement item of similiar or slightly different specification.
  • 4.3 For higher value items which are lost or damaged, we will assist in making a claim for compensation through Royal Mail or the carrier. However we will not be liable for paying compensation until any claim is honored.
  • 4.4 The amount of any compensation payable will either be the full purchase value of the goods, or the maximum limit set by Royal Mail / carrier (if the latter is below the purchase value of the goods).
  • 4.5 Where an item is not delivered, we will not consider a claim or request for a replacement until 21 days from the date of dispatch.
  • 4.6 Claims for lost or damaged items must be reported via eBay Messaging or on our website
  • 5. Warranties

  • 5.1 Unless otherwise stated in the listing, if an item is found to be faulty or defective it can be returned within 7 days of receipt for a refund.
  • 5.2 Unless an item is sold as new and is backed by manufacturers warranty, no warranty shall be given or implied by us on any items sold.
  • 6. Returns

  • 6.1 Items may only be returned within 7 days of the delivery date.
  • 6.2 We cannot accept any items returned in person, or by carriers not approved by us.
  • 6.3 Buyers are responsible for paying the delivery costs of returning items. We can arrange courier collections of heavy items for which there is a charge of £6 GBP deducted from any refund.
  • 6.4 Where a larger item sold is under warranty cover provided by ourselves, we will cover the courier collection charge.
  • 6.5 Items returned in an unsaleable condition and which are found to be not faulty or defective, will be subject to a 15% restocking fee, which will be deducted from any refund.
  • 7. Feedback

  • 7.1 Feedback will be provided for buyers only after payment is received.
  • 7.2 Customers agree to leave positive feedback if they are happy with their purchase, and if there is a problem to contact us BEFORE leaving neutral or negative feedback.
  • 8. Complaints and "Item Not Received" Claims

  • 8.1 In the event of a dispute or complaint arising after a sale, the buyer is required to make contact with us in order to give us the opportunity to deal with the complaint.
  • 8.2 Buyers agree to wait 21 days (7 days for UK customers) before making an Item Not Received claim on eBay and/or PayPal. Buyers agreed to contact us BEFORE making a claim to give us the opportunity to replace or refund the purchase.

WE REGRET TO HAVE TO SAY THIS, BUT DUE TO A TINY MINORITY OF EBAY USERS WHO DO NOT PLAY BY THE RULES AND SEEK TO EXPLOIT SELLERS, ANYONE WHO DELIBERATELY BREACHES OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE BLOCKED FROM BIDDING ON ITEMS OR BUYING FROM US AGAIN IN FUTURE.
