Josef Dolls

Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit our site.

Although this ebay site is new, our experience on eBay and with Josef Dolls is not.  We have been selling and shipping these dolls for several years.

Each doll is brand new and inspected prior to shipping. Each shipment is professionally packaged and shipped with delivery confirmation included.

We stand behind each and every sale with an unconditional money back guarantee. We not only appreciate your business today, we want you back as a steady customer for years to come.

A Brief History of Josef Dolls

Josef Dolls first came into being in 1945. Created by artist Muriel Joseph George, these dolls have been collected ever since. The original dolls were manufactured in California before moving the production facilities to Japan. The earlier dolls featured black eyes and hair and are still highly sought after.

In 1982, Muriel entered retirement and sold the company to then partner, George Good. Production of Joseph Dolls continued between 1982 and 1985 before the sale of the company to Applause. Applause first distributed the dolls under its own label, evidenced by the earlier Applause Hang tags, before switching the line to its Dakin Division and the current heart shaped Dakin hangtag. Production of these dolls also moved to China.

In 2007, Applause sold its Dakin Division to Consolidated International. If this name does not sound familiar try these: Kay Bee Toys, Wisconsin Toys, Big Lots. At first it seemed that Consolidated was going to blow out and discontinue the Josef Line. As a matter of fact, these Josef Dolls briefly were being liquidated at many Big Lots stores, but due to the popularity of these dolls and the avid collectors, Consoldidated hired the sales company, John Hansen Company out of California , to take over the sales and distribution of these dolls. Only time will tell whether additional dolls will make it into future production.
