Greyhound Pets of America/Greater Orlando
Greyhound Pets of America (GPA) is
a National 501(c)3 corporation organized completely by volunteers who are
dedicated to finding responsible, loving homes for professional racing
Greyhounds who no longer qualify to compete at the racetrack.
Founded in 1996, Greyhound Pets of America/Greater
Orlando Chapter (GPAGO) is located in Longwood, Florida. Due to the huge
growth of GPAGO, we reorganized in 2003 with a Board of Directors and
Officers to
handle the extensive responsibilities involved in running GPAGO smoothly.
GPAGO has a home of its own. Our
Kennel houses 44 Greyhounds in crates with another 8 in suites. Our Greys are lucky to have
two knowledgeable caretakers, coordinated by Joan
Harris and staffed by GPAGO volunteers. There are another
(approximately) 40 dogs living in foster homes waiting to be adopted
permanently.
Volunteers are always needed, sponsors are needed for
our dogs, and supplies are also needed for the office and kennel.

adoption right now! We know that not everyone can adopt a greyhound,
and not everyone can go to the kennel to volunteer, but just about everyone
can make a donation to help us feed these majestic creatures and keep them
comfortable while they wait for the ideal family to find them.

Items for sale on EBay
GPA/GO is registered with
MissionFish. This means that we are a legitimate non-profit verified by MissionFish, and the EBay
fees are returned to us as a donation from Ebay GivingWorks program, ensuring that every dollar of
your winning bid goes to helping the dogs. (Notice the small ribbon
icon next to our listings.)
Some items are typical
fundraiser items like wrist-bands, calendars, and greyhound crafts.
Others are items that have been donated to our office that we don't need,
and are turning into cash (and then dog food, etc.) on EBay.

tax-exempt, non-profit corporation founded in 1987 for the purpose of
finding homes for ex-racing greyhounds and educating the public on the
suitability and availability of greyhounds as pets.
Greyhound Pets of America is the largest
non-profit greyhound adoption group, and since it opened its doors in
1987 has adopted over 65,000 greyhounds into loving homes.
Greyhound Pets of America has more
than 10,000 members and 59 chapters and sub-chapters across the country.
