I collect kimono. I use my Ebay account for other things from time to time, but its main purpose is to collect kimono, obi and related accessories. While some people hang kimono on their walls as decor, I actually wear them and have spent hours studying how to properly wear them, and which obi and obi bow styles are correct for certain kimono, etc. It's a rare hobby, but a very fun one.
As a (hopefully someday) textile artist I love the fabric decor techniques used on kimono (I especially love Yuzen!) but the uniqueness of the garments (most vintage kimono are literally one-of-a-kind) and the intricate nature of the culture surrounding them and how to properly wear them also appeals to me.
I'm also an anime fan- and actually, the first way I was introduced to kimono was through "Rurouni Kenshin" and "Inuyasha." ^^; I hope that since then, I've learned many things...
