 The Story Behind The Name
Guya was what my children called my grandmother. I have four children and when my oldest started to talk, he called my grandmother, "Guya" as he could not pronounce great-grandma. She worked in retail until she was 82. I found my passion for clothes from her. One of my favorite things as a child was going on buying trips with her to see what the latest fashion trends would be. She was the most influential person in my life so when the occasion arose to sell on eBay it only seemed fitting to name if for her. The "103" is for the 103 wonderful years she spent on this earth.
I was an at home mom with four children from college age to preschool and my favorite pastime other than taking care of the children was shopping for them. People always remarked on their clothing and one day, a cousin of mine said that I should sell the clothes on eBay. What began as a fun hobby quickly turned into a business.
What started as a once in a while thing has turned into a seven day a week business and I love it! It is the thrill of the hunt for me. I love to find beautiful clothes that I can sell at reasonable prices. Now I am not just shopping for my family but for all of the customers on eBay. How fun is that! I pride myself in what I sell and would never list anything that I, myself, would not wear. I hand select each item to make sure it is up to the standards we have set for Guya103.
I sell only brands I have purchased for myself or my family over the years. That way I am familiar with the designer as well as the quality of the item. Brands I try to list on a regular basis include: Dana Buchman, Eileen Fisher, Ellen Tracy, St. John, Ralph Lauren and Michael Simon. I list as frequently as I possibly can which is usually about 3-4 times a week. Please check back often as things here at Guya103 are always changing.
