As a youth growing up in Indiana, I was very fortunate to have a family that camped throughout all of our Indiana State Parks. I remember spending many a summer in places like Spring Mill, Turkey Run, and Brown County State Parks. My family also had a long tradition with Boy Scouts and I spent my younger years in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and finally a High Adventure Explorer Post. My son and I share Scouting together today. I as an Assistant Scoutmaster, and he as a LIFE Scout climbing his way to EAGLE.
In my young Scouting days I was able to learn how to camp, canoe, hunt, fish, backpack, rock climb and rappell. As an adult I have been fortunate to be able to do these same activities with my son, and my wife. Simply put, we love the outdoors. Our travels and adventures have taken us from the Appalachian Trail, to the granite walls of Devils Lake, to Yellowstone National Park, to the Great Smoky Mountains, and all points in between.
In September of 2002, we founded Gwaltney Gear with a simple goal.
