I just couldn't stomach some 3rd person account of my life, so here it is. I was born right here in Michigan and realized pretty early on that I had the ability to draw well. It actually runs in the family on my mother's side (it would seem only the girls). Some of my very first drawings were of unicorns. I think I spent the entire ages of 10 and 11 drawing them exclusively! I sold my first pieces in highschool back in my dark, sullen, moody girl days. I worked mostly in charcoal and pencil and focused on surrealism in those days. Although I had an opportunity to pursue an education in art, I decided enlisting in the military was the best choice for my future. Needless to say, it was awhile before I picked up a pencil again and soon, my creativity was stuffed away.

It wasn't until a couple years later, after my daughter was born that I found that flow of creativity return and with encouragement I began to draw again. Suddenly there were fairy tales once more. Magical stories of dragons,  princesses, fairies and fairy godmothers and with all of them, came my need to put them to paper.

I know there are plenty of artists out there that create the most beautiful works of art effortlessly, I am not one of them. For most of my paintings the image just comes to me and until I paint or draw it, it clutters up my head...the sooner I get it on paper, the better for my clarity. Sometimes it gets pretty chaotic with a few different ideas in there. I enjoy working with many different mediums and I don't ever want to limit myself by sticking with just one. Most of the pieces require a different approach to achieve what I have envisioned. I love all fantasy creatures, but fairies are my favorite.

I was drawn to fantasy art & science fiction in my early childhood, like most, and I guess I just didn't grow out of it, thank goodness. I still love to escape to a place and time where fairies, elves, wizards, & unicorns thrive. I hope that my artwork conveys my love for all things fantasy and I hope you will enjoy it as well.

I am thankful to have had the support of so many over these years and I am equally thankful for the new friends I have recently made who have helped encourage, inspire and just plain pushed me to succeed.  I hope to continue to deserve all this appreciation and encouragement. I would like to thank all of you who have enjoyed my work and I hope you will forgive this dreadful summary of me. I am definitely looking forward to the future and the new adventures that await me.
