My name is John Green,but over the years on EBay I have grown used to being called Hab on the boards! Habtirdas is certainly a mouthful,but is an appropriate ID for me as it is a Yiddish phrase thought to be the origin of the word haberdasher-and I've been one of those for nearly 46 years!
In my time I have been a manufacturer,wholesaler and bricks and mortar retailer-always in the same trade, I was also for many years the "Habby Man" in the trade magazine(not many know that!)
Nowadays,I'm sort of retired,,but would rather keep busy than do whatever old people are supposed to do!
Nowadays,I've really given up on haberdashery,and am concentrating on my other love-that of small collectables,especially pens,pipes and lighters,but also the esoteric on which I spend hours doing the research.
