Mary Therese

I am Therese Annette Davern, begetting the name a TAD original.  When my Mom was pregnant with me, she prayed to St. Therese, the Little Flower, all 9 months, asking for St. Therese's prayers for a little girl.  She promised her if she helped her get one, she would name her after her.  After 9 months, I was born, thus acquiring the name "Therese."  That wasn't the end of it though.  She was having problems with her afterbirth, or so the doctor thought.  When he looked to see what was going on, he saw a head!  My Mom gave birth to two little girls that day, 45 years ago.  We are identical twins, 8 minutes apart and you may have noticed my sister's ID - tagtwin.  

Tagtwin is the one who introduced me to the art of reborning.  I fell in love instantly with all the little dolls and wanted to try my hand at it.  Upon going home to visit my sister this past June, she had a little mini Berenguer all ready for me to learn the art of reborning.  Being a novice at it, I broke so many of her needles, micro rooting the hair into my baby.  She was so patient and so generous with me!  And I was so excited and anxious to start reborning my own babies!

I came back home to Colorado and found the Secrist Reborning Kit, which included the Tina doll kit.   Before jumping into it, I studied other reborning artists and liked the sounds of the Genesis Heat Set Paints, so I purchased both Secrist Reborning DVD's.  Stephanie made it seem so easy on the DVD and my hopes were up that even I could attempt this art and succeed at it.  Soon after, I enrolled in an online reborning class from Simply Reborn and then became a M.A.R.S. member where I have learned so much!  Thanks to Ruth and Stacy for their tutorials, and Angel and Danesa for all their hard work, I feel like I'm becoming a pro at this.  Most importantly, it is from the support, encouragement and camaraderie of sharing the passion for baby dolls and one another in MARS that I am eternally grateful for.  Without all those wonderful women, I would not have been able to accomplish all that I have in such a short amount of time.  I owe a lot of thanks to them!

Carol Meredith is my very first reborn.  She was born on August 9, 2006 at 9:16 AM.  She is 22" long and weighs a little over 5 pounds.  I am very proud of her.  I think she's in need of much improvement, especially the way I micro rooted her hair, but I've fallen in love with her.  As my first reborn/newborn, I have decided to keep her.  It's always good to see the progress one makes in any attribute of life.

Other than that, I grew up in upstate NY on a farm with 8 other siblings.  I have been married for 21 years now to a loving husband and together, we have two beautiful children.  Our daughter is a junior in college, going for a degree in media animation.  Our son is a senior in high school this year and wants to major in aeronautical engineering.  By trade, I am a teacher, but by choice, I am a stay at home Mom.  My major in college was chemistry and I love teaching, but my children and my family take precedence over all.  I've never regretted my decision for staying home and raising a family.  I stay very active in my parish/church, which keeps me just as busy as if I were teaching full time.
