KATHY'S ABOUT ME PAGE
WELCOME TO MY REALM
FROM TIME TO TIME OUR INTERNET SERVICE WILL GO DOWN BECAUSE WE LIVE IN A RURAL AREA AND DO GET THE BAD WEATHER. THE ANTENNA ARRAY FOR OUR AREA IS ON TOP OF DOS CABESAS (2 HEAD) MOUNTAINS AND IS SUBJECT TO SNOW, LIGHTENING STRIKES AND OTHER SUCH NATURAL FORCES. IF THIS SHOULD OCCUR I DO NOT HAVE ANOTHER FORM OF ACCESS TO THE INTERNET. REST ASSURED I WILL DO MY BEST TO GET YOUR ORDER SENT TO YOU AS SOON AS I CAN.
Here you can learn a little bit about
me. I'm a middle-aged married lady. We live in the desert southwest; a rural area of
Arizona. We have one male dog, a mutt, who is possibly part greyhound with maybe Australian Shepherd mixed in. We have two cats: A
female grey semi-tabby cat and a female black and white calico cat. We have
about 40 chickens. Our weather is
milder than that of Tucson or some other cities and yes things grow in the desert!
HOBBIES AND INTERESTS
Butterflies, horses, dogs, cats, fish and birds. Learning about different countries of the world, their cultures and people. Fashions around the world.
Fav. movies: Action, Horror, biographies, historical fiction, sci-fi, etc. Examples: Blade, The Replacement Killers, the remake of The Haunting, The House on Haunted Hill, Matrix, Gattica, The Cell, Shadowland (Orwellian 1984 type movies),the list goes on and on. Casablanca and the Maltese Falcon. For a type of sequel to the movie Casablanca, check out a book called "As Time Goes By". My husband read it but I haven't yet. We listen to talk radio shows every day until they fade out or until sports comes on which my husband and I don't listen to. We do not watch TV at all and have no connection to it whatsoever. I guess that makes us "different" since we live in a very football and basketball intensive state where lots of people ONLY want to talk about "The Game" - sports.
I am very interested in (sewing) machine embroidery and I'm interested in finding machine embroidery designs on CD.
If you happen to have a Janome Memory Craft 10000 or 10001 Computerized, Embroidery Sewing Machine - let's talk! I would like to compare notes and maybe trade design ideas. Contact me at hamsa018@yahoo.com.
Here's some of the stuff I look for on eBay. Machine embroidery designs on CD, Art, Fabrics and sewing patterns, especially vintage patterns. Japanese furisode and the many many accessories needed to create a Maiko (Apprentice Geisha) outfit from same. Trust me there are DOZENS! Full-fashioned, Cuban heel stockings to wear, size 10 to 10.5 L, XL, or Opera length -(these stockings are the kind held up by garters)- and were common from the 30's to the 60's. Lucite purses and things from the 50's. High heel shoes as well as flat shoes. My latest interests are about khussa shoes which are a type of heavily beaded and/or embroidered east indian slipper type of shoes and also Geta, Okobo and Zori which are Japanese sandals. Books on fashions. Art, did I mention shoes?, and fans. Women's clothing, fashion, art, cook books from other countries around the world. Things from around the world. Pets, Antique Victrolas and Edison Cylinder phonographs.
My husband and I have a hobby of archery. We have several bows as well as arrows.
