Headhunter Antique Sales Just Simple Terms and a few interesting Bits n' Pieces REMEMBER WHEN ..... there was that local Flea Market in town where people bought there old stuff to sell? It was fun to walk around on a Saturday or Sunday morning and search for treasures or unique things. But then, little by little; dealers started setting up tables with NEW stuff like T-shirts, sunglasses, Racing gear, Cosmetics and cheap decorative figurines made in china that would break 5 minutes after you got it home. Same stuff every time you went. Then it wasn't fun anymore or even worth the effort. Now look at EBAY. Remind you of anything? The new stuff has ruined the search for the old, interesting and unique. New rules for all sellers based on a few "bad apples". New feedback ratings based on the more you sell - the better rating you get. New fees that take more time to figure how much you are paying for, than it takes to describe the item and load pictures. New this. New that. Ever month something changes "for my benefit". Sorry, I don't like my business changing unless I decide too do it. I am old; It takes me time to figure out every little advancement. I have enough trouble figuring out where I put my eyeglasses every time I sit down at the computer. STORE INVENTORY & BUY IT NOW - I usually reduce the price of items in my store every 30 days, if items don't sell. You have the choice to buy it now, or wait. But other buyer have the same choice ! - Of course, I make deals. - If you think my price is too high, back up your statements with facts. I will sell items lower than any other seller's item you can find of the same quality. - I have to make a living, just like you. My time and energy is worth something here. - I don't charge for handling or shipping supplies. It is the cost of doing business and taken out of my profits. - Don't pay for insurance! It is a waste of money for items under $100. If a seller packages your item properly; It won't break! Plus ~ Have you ever tried to make a claim with USPS on insurance? WHAT A ORDEAL ! And, if the item isn't properly packaged in the first place (in the USPS guidelines), they won't pay the claim anyway! AUCTIONS - I start all auctions at $24.95. (ebay fees are higher at $25) If it isn't worth that price/bid, it isn't worth my time and energy listing it on an Ebay auction. I still haven't figured out how any seller can make a profit selling something for one cent. Please fill me in? - Don't wait for me to re-list it a lower price. You will find it at a local "charity" thrift store here in St Petersburg, FL. - I frown on snipe bidding. Especially from non-ebay programs. It is just a sleazy practice and undermines one of the reasons ebay was started - to do the bidding for you! I am not an expert on things, and it is fun and exciting seeing bidding on an items. It also encourages me to buy and list more stuff. It seems now, people think auctions are advertised for 7 days, and then everyone is suppose to bid in the last 5 minutes and try to knock each other's bids out. That is just adolescent behavior in my book. - PLEASE REMEMBER AN EARLY BID IS A SURE BID. DON'T MISS OUT IN THE LAST FEW SECONDS TO A SNIPER!! SOMEONE WILL... DON'T LET IT BE YOU!
