Heartland Outdoor Specialties- Your Source for Quality Fly Fishing Gear



Hello, and welcome to Heartland Outdoor Specialties. I am a dedicated fly fisherman with over thirty years experience. I started fly fishing as a young boy and have been in love with the sport ever since! My favorite fly fishing pursuit is for wild trout. Nothing causes my pulse to quicken like seeing the take of a fly followed by the upward arcing and taut line of my fly rod. Once you have experienced this,you are hooked for life! My favorites fishing haunts are the Missouri Ozarks.Several areas are close enough to me that I am afforded the opportunity to visit them on a regular basis. I sometimes feel as if I am visiting with an old friend as I wade the tranquil streams casting to my quarry. Some of my favorite spots include the Upper Current, Meramec and Niangua Rivers. I have also been known to frequent Bennett Spring and Montauk State Parks.

I started my business in December of 2005. My goal was, and still is to offer quality fly fishing gear and tying materials at reasonable prices. Like many other anglers, I was frustrated with a lack of quality fly fishing items in my home area. This left me with the option of having to drive long distances to make a purchase or shop the major catalogs and pay high shipping costs. Neither of these options were attractive to me. After all, hasn't there been a time when you only wanted to purchase a single item but the shipping cost or driving time exceeded the value of your purchase? Been there, done that! My business allows you to buy as little or as much as you need and pay modest shipping on those items. I also make it a point to feature American made products whenever possible. In addition,I have also field tested and personally use most of the items I offer for sale. If it does not meet my standards for quality and durability, I will not offer it to you! Some of the items I sell are exclusive to my listings,( be sure to check out the insanely small micro-mini lead heads).
