My purpose in buying and selling on ebay is to improve my personal collection. The coins I offer for sale are duplicates or the result of upgrading. My intent is to get fair value as a buyer and a seller. I have a healthy dislike of those sellers who seek to take advantage of inexperienced buyers. I have included several links to sites which I have found to be valuable in my own buyer education. I encourage potential buyers to visit these sites so they can make more informed buying decisions. Reputable sellers know that an informed buyer is good for the industry. If you have a positive buying experience and know you received value for your money you will come back.
There is several third parties coin grading companies popping up in the industry. These companies are not regulated and there are significant differences in their grading standards. Those companies approved by ebay are well respected in the industry. Ebay recognizes the following coin certification agencies.
- Numismatic Guaranty Corporation (NGC)
- Numismatic Conservation Services (NCS)
- Professional Coin Grading Service (PCGS)
- Independent Coin Grading (ICG)
- ANACS
