Vintage items are our passion, especially vintage linens. We specialize in vintage and antique bed linens, tablecloths, dishtowels, and unique vintage collectibles of an era no more to return. Since I was a little girl, I have always loved vintage and antique collectibles. My mother and dad's home was filled with gorgeous antiques and I loved knowing the history of each item. When Mom would bring home a new antique, I would always ask her if she knew to whom it belonged to and how old it was. I still love finding out the history of each vintage and antique that I offer on eBay. I am fascinated by its history. To me, each vintage item is a reflection of the person who once owned it. Each item has its own particular story to tell. These items once belonged to a person who had hopes and dreams, sorrows and disappointments, joys and sadness. These people once walked this earth and are no more. Each vintage collectible in its own way is a mirror of that person's life. A person lives on in the memories of the living and the items they once owned. That is why you will find a brief history of the vintage items and antique collectibles that I offer on eBay. I believe the more you know about the item's history, the more you can appreciate and revere its past. When you bid on one of my vintage linens, there might be an occasion when I may overlook a tiny hole or stain, but it is not intentional. Vintage linens are not always perfect, they are after all, used, and not new. If you are interested in perfect linens, vintage may not be what you want. I love old linens, and would rather have them than something new, and realize there may be a spot or two, or a hole that comes with them. I strive to describe each linen accurately, take good pictures, and point out any flaws, but if I make a gross error in my description, I will offer a refund.
Another of my loves is The Ponca City Herb Festival, which is held the first Saturday of June. It is an annual event hosted by the Sage, Rosemary and Thyme Garden Club. I founded the Ponca City Herb Festival back in 1993. It's website is www.poncacityherbfestival.net.
This event has grown to an attendance of over 20,000 attendees and each year the number increases. The Cann Memorial Botanical Gardens, the site of the festival, is a ten acre historical botanical garden centrally located in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The gardens were donated to Ponca City by Elsie Cann Brown, daughter of L. A. and Mary Cann, in August 1975 and renovated in 1977.
The gardens are showcases of color, texture, and fragrance. They provide local citizens, and visitors alike, with a sanctuary of plants, trees and flowers to absorb and relish. The garden's beautiful water plants, aromatic herbs and colorful flowers, which bloom all year, set amongst antique lamp posts, winding brick walkways, a gazebo, park benches, and a large tree-shaded patio makes a wondrously perfect setting for the festival. Workshops and seminars are held in the magnificent circa 1908 Cann home. Yearly attendance is estimated to average well over 20,000. Plants, primitive bird houses, yard ornaments, potting sheds, quilts, herbal vinegars and oils, handmade baskets, candles, soaps, furniture, potpourris, stoneware, and much more were provided by over 95 vendors from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, Colorado and Arkansas.
Seminars covering topics such as soap making, growing roses, herbs, wildflowers, xeriscape landscaping, making herbal bath products, tussy-mussies, herbal cooking and much, much more, are conducted at each year's festival.
Sage, Rosemary and Thyme Garden Club hosts the festival to promote public education of herbal gardening and related subjects. By staging the festival at the Cann Memorial Garden, it is hoped to heighten public awareness of all Ponca City public gardens and to raise funds for their continuation.
I am the mother of three very precious grown children who are my greatest accomplishments. I am married and have been for 25+ years. My hobbies include shopping for antiques and collectibles, gardening, attending the opera and musicals, reading classics, hosting tea parties and cooking Italian food. I teach Italian cooking classes in Tulsa. I have written two books and have written 18 magazine articles. I love chocolate and ice cream. My greatest love, however, is my love for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
