Products to organize, equip, and encourage the Christian Homeschool Educator

Higher Call

Homeschool Resources

Exclusive distributor of

The Homeschool Personal Assistant/sup>

by Katevik Publications

Higher Call Homeschool Resources is owned and operated with the whole-hearted ambition to

organize, equip, and encourage the Christian homeschool educator. It is the perfect blend of our

passionate desire to equip the saints and an opportunity to share what we have learned through

the years as home educators. I am also part owner of a private publishing enterprise to create

quality, uplifting resources for home educators.

That company, Katevik Publications, is the result of three moms who

have searched for reasonably priced solutions to home school

organization and often found little that met the need.

Having worked together on a variety of ministry and home education

projects in the past, we elected to turn our attention to creating a

user-friendly resource for the home school family, The Homeschool

Personal Assistant. In pooling our time and talents, we have created and hope to create many

resources that will be a blessing to our valued customers.

Our products reflect our values of:

  1. Developing a child's mind so that they may glory in the God of their creation.

  2. Molding a child's character to reflect Christ at every opportunity.

The name "Katevik" is the condensed version of our names (Kathi, Tess, and Vicki) and

our logo reflects our hearts toward one another. We are sisters in Christ who seem to be "three

peas in a pod" concerning Christian education! We currently reside in Arizona where we can be

seen driving our home school buses to and fro to homeschooling events. This year of 2005

marks incredible milestones in our homeschooling way of life! Congratulations to Vicki's son,

David, on his High School Graduation and selection as a National Merit Scholar! Congratulations

to Kathi's daughter, Amy, on her High School Graduation and conquering that Driver's Test!

What a gift and privilege it has been to see these young adults grow up before our eyes...

to God alone be the glory! For you, the reader, I encourage you that soon, much sooner than

you think, this day will arrive for you also.

Persevere and trust for each day's manna so that you can be assured of your high

and holy calling in the education of your children!

Highlights from the Homeschool Personal Assistant:

Devotional:

"One of our main jobs is to demonstrate the love of God to

our children, acting out in human form His infinite concern for

them.  Textbooks and field trips are important, but if we leave

out God love, then we will hand our children a life filled with

the knowledge of the world, but lacking in the knowledge of

grace.  Let our prayer be that we allow the Lord to use us as

a conduit of His love to those in our care."

Verse for the Week: 'I led them with cords of human kindness, with ties of love; I lifted the yoke from their neck and bent down to feed them' (Hosea 11:4 NIV).

Bible Study:

What does this verse mean to me?

"I can trust my Shepherd to provide for me.  I know He

loves me because He died for me.  I know He will give me

what I need today.  Even though I don understand why my

husband lost his job, I know God will guide us and direct us as

we wait upon Him to provide our needs.  I not sure how it

will happen, but I know the Lord will give us every good thing

He has for us, and in His perfect way.  I can trust Him with

my husband career and with our finances."

Community Service:

"Homeschoolers have the unique advantage of being available

during the daytime hours when most of their peers are in

school.  Because of this flexibility our children can have the

ultimate privilege of serving others while being salt and light in

an unsaved world...."

Co-Ops:

"Unlike a support group, a co-op is defined here as a group of

mothers pooling their funds and resources in order to hire a

teacher to instruct on a particular subject. Retired teachers

are an excellent resource for the homeschooler. Many have

years of experience in the elementary education field. These

former educators can facilitate classes in foreign languages,

art, upper level mathematics, and other more technical

subjects...."

Field Trips:

Ask about grade-based activities and teacher packets.

"If available, they can be obtained either the day of the trip

or by mail. Our mining and mineral museum has a grade-based

scavenger hunt, our university science fair hands out

supplemental classroom activities, and our city western days

teacher program provides an entire unit study based on that

year specific highlighted subject matter."

This is just a sample of the volume of information in The Homeschool Personal Assistant!
